I wonder how much time he will really spend. I heard now you have to spend 80% of your sentence? Did anyone watch her on American's Most wanted? She would not talk about Scott. Maybe because he had not been sentenced yet. That would be my guess. Now he is on the other side of the law!

Actually state inmates only do 50% of your time. Plus you are able to get time cuts for certain programs. So he'll do only 3 1/2 years or less. Unless he gets into trouble then he can lose time and do the whole 7 years. Federal inmates do 80% of their time.

its sad, scott is not a violent person and is actually a very friendly nice guy.I worry about how he will fare in prison, having been a gaurd. He has already lost everything, his marriage, reputation, ect. How will his children be treated by thier peers.I am not saying the time dosn't fit the crime because he had to know the trouble he would get into if caught. Anyone who finds joy in any of this is sick. I believe gaurds can be threatend, intimidated,or even seduced.I dont know the circumstances or details of this case, so the only intelligent thing to do is to keep an open mind. You dont know until walk in those shoes.

Scott is strong and will be ok on the other side he needs family and friends to get through this part.He has done the county time without a incident so he can do this time. His true family and friends will write, visit and keep him in their prayers.

Thank you for your kind words. At least at this point we have a timeline. We know how much time he is going to have to do and everyday that he is in there, it will bring it down that much. Scott is a nice guy, that is a victim of what goes on in prisons. I truely believe that inmates take advantage of kindness and they can smell your weaknesses. They have nothing else better to do. Sara has been compared to Charles Manson by her prosecuting attorney. She manipulates others for her own good. I am not making excuses for Scott at all, what he did was wrong, it is just unfortunate that it did happen. We as his family stand by him and love him very much, and we were all there today to support him. When he gets out in 2 1/2 years he will have a lot of hugs to come home to. I know that some people will get on here and bash Scott and us, but it is what it is, nobody can change what happened, and THANK GOD that they found Ms. Pender, and Thanks all the law enforcement that brought her down.

Thanks Greg, you have been there for him the whole time. I think he will do ok, he has so far. We have to be strong out here for him in there. Keep in touch.

Why is it the families always portray the criminals as the victims? Geez, the guy let a murderer out of prison. Why would I feel sorry for him? She could have killed someone else. Yeah...he is the victim. Whatever.

It's not that he is a "victim" like anyone did anything to him, I am just saying it happens with correctional officers all the time, and it is still going on. Maybe not to the extreme of letting someone out, but as far as getting sucked in with the inmates, it does happen. I also see where you are coming from and your right, she could have done something bad, I agree with you on that part. I am not asking anyone to feel sorry for him or us his family at all.

Is Scott mentally handicapped? Well, if not then he should have been strong enough and smart enough to know better. When you work in a prison you must not let yourself become emotionally attatched to convicted murders, or any other inmate. I wouldn't call a man who hurt his family and let a murderer go free a nice guy. He committed a crime just like every other criminal. Now he must do his time. I'm sure he'll have a rough way to go in prison. I know there was an officer at Wabash Valley Cor. Fac. that got busted for trafficking and sentenced to 4 years. The county decided to keep him at the jail for his own safety. What is sad is that Scott put the lives of millions of americans at risk by helping that crazy woman escape, including the lives of his own family.

Scott not just let a convicted murder out he trafficked many things through that prision knowing the benefits and the consequences..I hear he was well paid for the things he did.. that is not poor scott.. as Sarah said in her interview time to put her"big girl pants on" and take resposibility for what they have done... They both have a brain and know what they did was wrong so deal with the consequences..

You guys are right!

This man was a trained and qualified corrections officer. They are trained to overcome inmates' advances, games, and plots. This guy decided to forgo his oath and assisted a felon in an escape.

I sure hope that chubby p i e c e-of-t a i l was worth it Scott!!

Seems like they should just privatize the prison and be done with it. Lets save some money and actually keep the offenders inside the fence.

Well you obviously dont know Scott, because he is a nice guy and thats probably what got him in this situation in the first place. What he did was wrong, nobody is disagreeing with that, however, you can't tell me that you have never been manipulated by someone else before. It may have not been to this proportion but some people cant help get sucked in and it terrible but thats how the world is. Sarah is obviously good at what she does she didnt kill anyone she got her boyfriend to do it.. she didnt escape she got people to let her go, this chic is very good. They say the most dangerous people are very charismatic. LOok at Adolph Hitler, same thing except he got a whole country to believe him.

No, I do not know Scott nor do I want to. If he's such a nice guy he should have been thinking more about his family, not a piece of a**. Nice guys don't help murderers escape. Like I said, he should have been smart enough to distance himself from convicts. He sounds neither nice nor smart!!!

I personally dont think scott got enough time for his crime. The pain he caused his family will be with them the rest of there lives. I feel like he shouldnt have even reproduced. His family should have been his number one priority. So I think he is a real piece of s**t. A man should be a man and not be so week. I feel sorry for his family. They probably had a lot of faith and confidence in him and then he destroyed their lives. Nice guy my a*s!!!!!!

The maximum he could receive by law was 8 years.
