Yes, he was involved in that trip - but as with all things Rockville - nothing happened. I don't think Rockville has a chance to win the state title....they don't play defense very well....and were obviously afraid of taking on LCC who beat them in the regional because Rockville's game plan was to hold the ball. Let them go to West Vigo......and see if RJ can compete in that league.

If it true that VCSC offered Mahurin the job was it because none of the assistants were qualified to take over as head coach. I would think they would offer it to someowne who already has a relationship with the players.

It sounds like VCSC is wanting to bring in someone from the outside. If Mahurin takes the Principal job at South would R.J. play at South or W.V.? You also have to remember that the principal at W.V. doesn't know anything about athletics!!!! He is an idiot!!!! Has anyone asked the team what they want??

I wouldn't think Mahurin would take RJ to South. He probably wouldn't be the STAR there. He is good, but I don't think he could handle the competition at the bigger schools in South's conference.

Maybe it is North not South - both are open - so whichever - it still opens up a position for a new administrator....with a son who is 6'8" doesn't mean necessarily that he has to coach. Would it be interesting if a former ISU player that already teaches in the corporation got the coaching job??

I really would hate to see them leave Rockville. Rockville does have a legitimate shot at winning a State title...they have a lot of talent on that team. He has built this program into what it is today through many years of hard work and dedication.

He also keeps adding events to the summer schedule (on an almost weekly basis) with the Rockville group, which makes me think that if he were leaving, he wouldn't be investing as much time and effort into the summer program.

Plain Nosey you are correct I would think that one of the assistants would get first shot at the job. Neville is probably the least likely, just because he lacks expeience. what about the other two assistants? Covert and Edmonson?

I feel bad for his boy- being a bball star and all! I"m sure his life will be changed for ever. That will be hard for him to continue in that school!! I heard most of Tommy's stuff got dropped of at the hospitle curb by his fam when he was rushed to the emergency room. I think a divorce has happened also!!!!! Good for that family for standing up against some one who is so wrong!!!

he already had ties with VCSC because his mother worked in the office of the Middle school for years making every girls life a living hell. Don't have to look far to see where he learned to disrespect young girls, she taught him well.

A shorter list would be those who he's not related to. First and foremost, his dad was on the vigo county school board for years. His mom is a teacher. His wife or ex-wife is a teacher. His father in-law is the athletic director at west vigo. I believe his sister in-law is a teacher. His mother in-law works in the school corp. in some capacity. etc.... Any questions?

The WV coaching position is posted on the VCSC job openings. It must not be an officially done deal yet for anyone. I heard WV's varsity girls coach is interested in the job too. I hope the victims parents press charges against Thornton...he shouldn't be allowed a free pass on this one. His son is going to go through **** next year as a freshman in high school, probably already is now. I feel sorry for his daughter too, who will be a 6th grader in the middle school next year. It has to be very hard on both of them right now. Too bad Tommy didn't care about them enough to keep it zipped.
