if he wanted to oppose something, he should have opposed it when the judge over ruled the juries verdict, or when the judge ordered shock probation. I'd like to know the terms of Posey's probation. For these youngsters that keep getting in and out of trouble....I think instead of paying those high probation fees and the fees to be in different programs, they should be made to go to school and maintain a certain grade. Some of them can't get a job "around here" after they've gotten in trouble. I'm sure it's not that way with the Posey kid, but not everyone has relatives that are well off, or work in the system. If they can pay the probation fees they can pay tuition and get educated. JMO but if we really want to help these kids I think getting them educated would be better than just collecting probation fees and using the fees for God knows what. I say cut the probaions fees down and make them get an education.

My, My, My...Clifford is going to look like a real dumbass if it's true he can't order probation. I think this boy deserves jail time..and more than 90+ days.. He hasn't learned a lesson yet.. Think about if this was a child molester who had gotten probation and then broke it by not touching a child but maybe just taking a picture that crossed the line a little..So many people would be outraged but this young guy just breaks the rule with no consequence. You can bet that wasn't the first time he had broke his probation either..it was the only time he got caught though. I'm glad I didn't vote for Clifford..what an idiot.

that murder is murder, and if the jury found him guilty he should have served his time like everyone else.

Turner wouldn't have been any better. He probably wouldn't have gave him added probation time. Turner works with the attorney that was representing the Posey kid.

In this case Gary didn't get his way and neither did Rodgers. If I were this kid and had ten years added I don't think I could make it. Maybe Clifford was the right choice.

Poor cody!!! Are you kidding me he made a mistake that cost two people their lives, ok mistake but he gets a second chance and is out drinking again, i bet you wouldnt feel the same if he got drunk and killed someone in your family. Everyone should be forgiven but he needs to get help with his problem, or does he just not care about his life or anyone else's?

What do you mean poor Cody. Hell, he killed people. Wonder if you would think 'poor Cody if it was your child or spouse that he killed. You are a complete idiot for making a statment like that.

you people make it sound as if Cody dreamed of running over those poor people and killing them. It was an accident and was judged that way for the most part. If alcohol would have been involved the day of the wreck he would have done prison time. Believe me, he pays for it everyday, just knowing that a child had to die. But apparently, God decided he wanted his angels home that winter day. As for time in jail, he has spent more than 3 weekd there too. Try since October.

I wonder if his cousin BS McCoy will let him serve his term as a trustee and the county jail if he gets revoked, again. McCoy certainly made sure Posey was back in Lamar county in less than 24 hours after the bench warrant was signed. That's a record.
Whatever

I guess his DWI and making alcohol available to minors was an accident too. Quit making excuses for him. I've known people who did less and received more time.

I agree !! If the truth be known this kid has had excuses made for him all his life and in all probability is what's wrong with him now. He should be in prison for at least a couple of years!!

I'd be more comfortable knowing he was off the streets. Ninety days is not long enough.

Well, it appears Lovett is the one that first started the idea of shock probation. Lovett must have agreed with Clifford that he did have authority to grant probation. Don't go putting the blame on Clifford.

Hey, I agree with your name for him. He is nothing but BS so I think I'll refer to him as BS mccoy from now on.

Nope but Blow Job McCoy sure got his way. What a sorry bastud for doing that. Now everybodys cousin can get bench warranted back and released. I cant believe people actually voted for this dumbazz. If the panthers come back, they should avoid the courthouse and start at the sheriffs department.
Please reread

Please reread the article. Gary Young is saying that once probation is revoked that he believes Texas law does not allow a judge to reinstate it. He isn't saying that they can't grant probation in the first place.
