Obama bin biden,

"Let's not forget, it was Adam and Eve. Not Adam and Steve."

Please look at the context of Genesis before making wild allegations. Adam and Eve is a story borrowed from the Mesopotamian culture while the Hebrews were in exile. "Adam" is the Hebrew word for "man." It is used to describe gender, not the name of a specific person. If there really was Adam and Eve, and everyone on earth descended from them as the story goes, we would all look Middle Eastern.

No hate, you say? Just look at all the positive things people say in regards to homosexuals in conservative blogs. californiacatholicdaily.com is a good example. The words "vile, sinful, disgusting" appear more times that one can count. Doesn't sound like Christian love to me.

This is too much money, too big a decision to leave it to John Cook and the morons on City Council. Probably illegal anyway. They are setting aside, spending taxpayer money to benefit only a small group of people. Taxpayer money should only be spent to benefit ALL residents of the city. Why ONLY City employees??? Just like Cook was the tie-breaker vote (isn't he always) on continuing to GIVE $100,000 to MHMR. MHMR is an El Paso County responsibility. WE pay money/taxes to the County to support this. So why the hell is John Cook going to make us pay TWICE?? I know. Just out of the goodness of his heart and it's ONLY tax money and he WILL get MORE. We need to start voting on all this waste and spending they do. These people are way too stupid to make important decisions.

Last time I looked around I lived in America, aren't ALL of us supposed to have EQUALITY. I guess Tom Brown and his followers needs to go to a communist country, maybe he would be happier there.

Are you serious El Paso? Let people be. Why do you feel your beliefs are better than the other person? There is nothing wrong with wanting the best for your loved one, "partner", regardless of sex.

it's not illegal for a city to offer benefits to unmarried partners of employers ... many cities across the country to it, including austin. like i said before, it likely will save the city money, especially if the people receiving these new benefits cannot afford health care on their own. one way or the other the taxpayers will foot the bill, either through premiums, or through indigent health care costs.

So how exactly are they able to justify spending tax payer money on a person or persons, who have NO legal standing as husband and wife, Husband and Husband, Wife and Wife, Boyfriend and Boyfriend, GirlFriend and Girlfriend??? Especially if one or the other is not even a City employee?? Cook and Company can just provide benefits to any one they want?? How about we get all these panhandlers, homeless people off the street corners and insure them under the City Plan?? Anybody have an answer as to how this is legal to take our money for this?? Yep, the people of El Paso (no ACORN votes, please) need to have a vote on this.

Freak.
Keep your idiotic statements out of this forum...and try to learn how to spell tendencies while you're at it. Aside from that, if you all want to support a measure that denies rights to citizens, that's fine by me. I just don't think I should have to pay taxes, then. I didn't approve of any heterosexual marriages or you all having kids, for that matter. Why the hell am I paying for that when I won't receive the same kind of support?

Traditional Family Values are a thing of the past Pastor Brown. I admire your will to fight and stand up for what you believe. However, your effort is laced with discrimination and hatred. You cannot hide behind the bible a spit versus of the gospel to justify your beliefs. Truly we are all God's children and if policy makers want their employees to have inclusive benefits that demonstrate the values of today then so be it. You've made your point and in all honesty it does not matter what I think because you are poised and set in stubborness which will push into the light as a champion for this cause but when you die you will have to answer to God for these actions and he will be the final judge of your crusade.
I cannot agree with the pastor. I am a Christian who follows scripture and clearly scripture says that we believers in Christ should submit to our law and not cause conflict. I also believe that God's word NEVER changes. Scripture tells us He is a God who does not every change. You obviously don't know what the scriptures say. We are NOT all God's children according to God's word. Scripture is very clear that we become God's children through Christ. Christ says, I am the way the truth and the life no man comes to the Father but through me. We are all created in His image which means we all have God's attributes. We will all face God and if the pastor is a true believer he will lose rewards for his actions, but it won't keep him from heaven if he has truly trusted Christ. I must say that what the pastor is standing for is ALL morally in accordance with scripture, it definitely sound like hatrated, but you must remember or know that this is God's word. God is a loving and just God wether we like it or not.
And no, it is not tradition it is God's Word that will forever stand, He is the author and creator of this world and His way is the only way. Who says it's tradition and that God's way is a thing of the past? You? Well let me tell you, you are NOT God therefore you have not say what should and should not be. You must study your scripture to know what kind of life we ought to live.

This is a "Fair/equality" issue. Well I will tell you what I tell my children, we do not deserve anything. The ONLY thing that was not fair was Christ dying for our sins. Now get over it!

So how do you explain humanity, through Darwinism? Then why don't we all look like apes?? There is a God and only one and He does condemn sexual immorality( homosexuality, adultry, fornicat ors etc.)

Whether or not insurance is inclusive is dependent on the employer. Employers are doing this to stay competitive and attract a diverse workforce, such as to better the city.
Is there a law saying it's illegal? No. Bills are being passed so it is accepted, allowing domestic partners to be included in insurance. http://www.legis.state.tx.us/Search/DocViewer...

So many tend to forget the love Christ had for EVERYONE.
I do understand the bible specifies a marriage between a man and woman. However; as Christ taught us, we are to love everyone. We may not agree with everyone's choices, but we must love everyone. Just because we accept someone doesn't mean we have to approve of them.
How about we just pray for people to follow what God commands, be a Christ like example to those we meet and leave the judging to God.
Amen let's leave the judgement to God. He is a loving and Just GOD. His word is truth. We may not agree with it, but it won't change it. Scripture certainly condems homosexuality and says those will not see the kingdom of heaven unless they repent and leave that lifestyle. We Christians need to tell those around us His truth lovingly we are the messangers not the judge. He will take care of the rest.

call me crazy, but I hardly see how 4,293 signatures is anywhere near representative of the almost 750,000 residents in El Paso county.
Whether you're for or against gay marriage, is still doesn't change the fact that denying a group of people basic rights afforded to everyone else IS Prejudice, no different than denying women the right to vote, blacks the right to ride in the front of the bus, or Christians to assemble in churches of their choosing to worship freely.

So, why can't these people get the same rights that we have?

I'm hearing about morals. Listen to yourselves as you critique the lives of these people. You obviously have no morals at all.

Recognize their rights and move on.

Your just plain misinformed and willing to accept any reason for homosexuality.
It's a mental disorder, plain and simple.
First you tried the gay gene. Nope, wrong.
Then you tried hollywood tv to push the agenda. Nope, didn't work.
Now your trying to use the Constitution and that will fail as well.

Oh, and you theory about everyone being middle eastern if only Adam (male) and Eve (female, obviously)created the earth, I guess you forgot about the great flood.
Does Noah ring a bell? Ding. There you go, now you understand. See that lightbulb on top of your head?

I'm sure you remember Sodom and Gommorah as well. I wonder where they got the term sodomy from?
Hmmmmmm. Not quite sure.
Well we all know what happened to that town, don't we?

Just because you don't like the truth in words such as "disgusting" "vile" and "sinful" doesn't mean it's hateful. If you see a dog that craps on the kitchen floor, what do you call it? Hate? That's just plain stupid.

Anyway, it doesn't matter, it's wrong and immoral.
And your side will lose. So suck it up and get back to normality.

It's the right thing to do.

Why can't these people buy health insurance like the rest of us?

Or would you rather pay for everyone that works for the city government?
Why not buy them a car too while your at it?
How about if we pay for their pet's health insurance if they have one?
Why not?

If you want to give them money? Go for it. No one is stopping you.
But when a law that says everyone must pay for something that has never happened in the history of the town, why do you accept it? You like being forced to pay for something you get nothing of?
Are you part of the sheople?

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Leo

If you ask someone to give you a hand today, don't be surprised if they make a mess of it. That's probably because their mind isn't on the job, but it might also be because your instructions aren't as clear as usual. So before you get angry, check that what you said made sense. Relations with someone older or more influential than you could also be blighted by confusion or doubt now.
