If you would visit one of the local dog parks, i.e. the one in Templeton, you would see how responsible the local dog owners are. Each and everyone picks up after their dogs. They know that other fellow humans and animals don't appreciate stepping in it and they are aware of the dangers that come with dog waste left on the ground (spread of diseases etc.) You should appreciate the fact that Paso Robles is building a dog park as it gives local dog owners an additional opportunity to exercise their pets which leads to happier and healthier pets and reduces problem behavior = less problems for you!

I donít appreciate the fact that the park in Sierra Bonita Retirement Community is even being considered! I live right across the street from the park. I want to enjoy the view of the old Oak tree instead of a dog park. This is a quiet community, I live on a very quiet street Ė the additional traffic would be very disconcerting. In addition Ė I like the idea of keeping my garage door open while enjoying my woodworking Ė I donít want to wonder who is in the park behind me. AND, itís a known fact that Senior Citizens are prime targets for crime, why would you subject us to this possibility? With all of the wide open spaces in Paso Robles, again - why is this area even being considered?

How about along the Salinas River where some land is being saved for beauty by the Salinas River Project? On the banks a fenced dog park can partially protect the flowers and trees on the river. Somebody smooth out a piece of land and somebody plant grass or whatever. Donated benches or chairs- maybe some of the cheap plastic chairs that are fairly comfortable and are good to stay out on the weather. Maybe. The people of the Salinas Project are doing it for money- volunteer workers may not be appreciated.
