There is a video on youtube from a local station at the. Dorner shootout scene. Taken before the fire started , you can hear cops yelling "burn the @er out"! Which is exactly what they did. Can't put him on trial, too muh LAPD dirty laundry would be hung out for all to see.

"The account of the capture wasn't in the paper
But you know they hanged old Smack right there
Instead of later
You know the people were quite pleased
That the outlaw had been seized
And on the whole it was a very good year
For the undertaker
You can't talk to a man
With a shotgun in his hand
Smack Water Jack bought a shotgun"

This guy's death appears to be justice served, especially to the families of the people he murdered in cold blood.

I do however have serious problems with the way this is being done and the censorship imposed on the coverage.

The link to the video below is very telling (forward to the 39:30 mark). The reporter clearly states the authorities have "asked us not to show anything down there"

What is most chilling to me is how easily the reporter acquiesced to the law enforcement directive of "don't show anything down there". You would think he would be embarrassed to say they obeyed the "directive".

In this day and age it seems the media operates more as tools of the powerful than it does as watchdogs of the powerful. It seems to start with Obama's press coverage fearful to even ask the guy "why won't you release those college transcripts, pick up 5 million dollars for your favorite charity and put that boob Trump to bed" and it ends with "ok San Bernardino sheriff's department, as you demanded, we'll keep our cameras away so you can do whatever you're going to do down there and nobody will see it".

Gone, apparently, are the days of Woodward and Bernstein. I'm afraid the closest we get nowadays to a Watergate-style reporting event are reports of Mr.Rubio reaching for his aqua.

They were justified in using deadly force, what does it matter weather they kill him with a sniper rifle or use fire? The end result is the same!

IMO Dorner had legitimate beefs with LAPD. He threw all that out the window when he startedd killing. There were a thousand other ways he could have brought attention to his grievances.
On the other hannd, I believe we have the right to expect cops to be professionals, and not a lynch mob, especially under fire.

Let me help ya Cha Chi. I agree with everything you said, but Woodard and Bernstein are two balless reporters. If it is a democrat they ain't interested.

Are you one of the dopes that think owning an ar15 is going to win the war against govt. authority? If we decide to kill you your choice of weapon will be immaterial. Shit, we shot a few bystanders even when they were'nt really in the way. We cover up for our own. We break laws to protect our own. We look the other way regarding corruption because that is our code, and when we come for you we ain't gonna give a shit about due process.

Cha Chi here. It's a shame about Joanie eh? Some tough times for her.

I didn't say Woodward and Bernstein were particular heroes of mine but they did their jobs. Where are the Woodward and Bernsteins of today, conservative or liberal?

If you watch that clip at the mark I posted it is truly scary how the reporter so nonchalantly gives way to the request to not "show anything down there". Are you kidding me? The request wasn't "hey, keep your helicopter back out of our operation zone". It was "keep your shot very wide so you cannot see anything we're doing".

I am a fully conservative man, as you may know from my postings. At the same time, I have said repeatedly to conservative friends of mine, there are some dangers which can come out of the right that can surpass even the dangers from the left. The Hitlers the Mussolinis, these were right wingers. There is little more dangerous in the world than right wingers who are right wingers for reasons that are other than spiritually inspired. Because those in law enforcement, and the military I might add, are often to the right of the political spectrum it is critical they are observed so that the aforementioned evils, if they exist, can be exorcised upon first sighting. From Obama's coverage to the San Bernardino coverage these guys are giving up being the watchdogs we need them to be.
