About 7pm at on January 23rd earlier today i was dropping my friend's home since we carpool back from San Diego. As i went to drop off my friend to his house near the Murriets/Temecula border, while suddenly a Temecula Police Officer rushed and almost rammed his car into my mine so i stopped. The officer immediately came out to his car with a GUN pointing at my head telling to put our hands up in the car. i was so shocked and i didn't understand what was going on. I was really nervous and couldn't stop hyperventilating. The officer called for back up and about 6 more officers fled the scene and aiming their guns recklessly at us. I felt any sudden movement would mean our lives would have been no more. I tried really hard to stay calm but it was very difficult in a situation where 7 officers have a gun to your head. I was told to slowly get out of my car. Frantic that any minute i would have been shot. I slowly got out of my vehicle. As i put my hands in up in the air in the rain. I was told to slowly move back to them. I felt so cold because it pouring outside. as i got closer i was handcuffed and placed into the vehicle. While i sat their i had no idea what was going on. I felt like a dirty criminal i never pictured myself placed inside a Police car with my hands tied with handcuffs. I slowly watch my fellow friends and classmates cautiously following police orders and leaving the car. Hoping they will not be shot at. I stayed in the police car for about 15 minute while watching the officers search my car. The police took me out of the vehicle and told me the reason this happen was because earlier that day a black Honda civic was stolen in that neighborhood. And i happen to drive a black Honda civic. It just didn't make sense in my head why the police had to go to such extreme, their only probable cause was the fact that i drove a black Honda civic. I believe their could have better handled the situation. Maybe check my license plate, or pull us over and ask for registration and license. I know the officers were doing their job since they really put their lives out their in the call of danger but I'm still upset and felt their alibi was not a probable reason to what they said. Really what hurt most that i did not receive a word from any of the officers of any apology. I felt i was entitled to a formal apology for everything i have been through. What if something could have happen leaving me and my fellow friends dead. Will our families not receive an apology, since they feel they don't feel its necessary that were entitled to one? Meaning our lives were only worth the amount of the stolen Honda Civic. I'm a long time resident of Temecula and always had pride with the Temecula Police. I always felt safe that their presence were always around when driving in Temecula but i dont know if i can say that anymore. I feel that innocent Temecula residents could undergo a similar situation. Which i really prey and hope that no one from Temecula will have to receive this kind of treatment from the Temecula Police Department. I'm baffled at the whole situation and i feel that the officers should give me a formal apology to make things right and handle situations more carefully. I hope one day i can have my faith back to the Temecula Police Dept.

You will not get an apology. The cops will say they are doing their job. They increase their own risk of endangerment by their attitudes toward innocent victims of their assaults. I'm confident that not all police officers have the same attitude. But I personally have, more than twice, being bullied by the Temecula police. They have gone so far as to break into my home, knock on my ten year olds bedroom door, waking her up with a flashlight in her face, and holding a gun to her, asking why she was so nervous and was she on drugs. When she said she just woke up they replied, "don't get smart with us young lady". My daughter was so traumatized after the incident that she would not sleep without me in bed with her for months after. The whole incident was because they thought there was runaways in the house because while taking a drunk neighbor home from the casino, they saw teens going through the side gate of my house. Go figure that one. It's no use trying to get any justification for their behavior because they will just lie about it.

You both are right.. its the lack of understanding the public. The cops jump to conclusions when they could look at the situation in a better, more public orientated way and still have officer safety. Its not that hard... i am a cop in the area and thats what i do. Temecula (riverside county sheriffs)is a diverse station, with its corruption and problems.
If you both have had issues of use of force... you should file a complaint with the departments (Station Captain) and up the chain of command within the sheriffs dept. Bad cops and poor conduct should not be allowed to continue!

An officer Pring has been hasseling my son for awhile now. He accused my son (who was skateboarding by a park) of throwing a glaas pipe into the bushes...he searched him, found nothing because he had nothing and never did! Then told him he would be beat up in juvie! He gives tickets for nothing (accused my son of rolling through a stop sign) He has searched him on numerous occasions. Why is he picking on a pretty decent 18 year old (who is home bycurfew every night)when there are gangs and horrible things going on out there? This cop just hangs around looking for trouble when it isn't there because it's easier to do.Anyone else have a problem with this guy? I'm starting to document things and am looking for other victims.

The Temecula and Murrieta police have nothing better to do then to harass people. You would think that they would be looking for real criminals but I guess that would require some effort of their part. I see police pulling people over all the time. And not just that it takes like 5 cops, the police dogs and a search of the car just to give a ticket. My son got pulled over a few months back and the police officer actually told him that he didn't do anything wrong that he just wanted his name to be heard over the radio so his sergeant would hear that he was doing something.

Come on already!

You must report this activity to the station commander ( Captain ) and expose all this bad cop behavior. Spread the word and more citizens in the community will band together and make whats wrong right! It always works when bad cops get exposed and the city gets the message, cops are fired and others learn from the misconduct.

I am an ex cop, if you dig deep into each incident and get all of the details you will usually find there is usually more to the story than the "poor victims" are claiming. Most people who are not doing anything wrong don't run into problems. There are exceptions to everything. Don't be too quick to label all of the "cops" as bad cops.
After all, who you do you call to check out the noises in your back yard, in the middle of the night ?
Next time go outside for yourself and see what it feels like to walk around your house, in the dark, trying to protect someone who could care less if you got shot or not.
Remember the cop is everyones "daddy" when they are doing something wrong. He or she may not be perfect but they will give their life so you can sleep safe at night.

Typical rants against police. The old saying holds very true....." Everyone supports law enforcement until the law is enforced on them." Bunch of whiners....

Dear ExCop: I would rather check out the noises in the dark myself then call the Temecula Police or Sheriff to assist. Recently, I have read too many things about their behavior and heard too many complaints about their lack of good judgment to trust them. I have never felt like this about the police anywhere else I have ever lived. The police chief needs to take a hard look at the force and work on retraining officers - they are behaving more like cowboys then cops - he needs to weed some bad seeds out. I would also recommend citizens file complaints. However, I think most people have heard that the complaints are not treated seriously and if you complain you are branded as a trouble-maker. That may mean you should be very afraid. The police and sheriff here behave as if they are a gang and outside the rules.

To, cops win again, It's easy to say you would rather go outside until you really have to do it. Talk is cheap until you have to put your life on the line.

To, Good citizen, what did you "not do" to have such a bad view of the police. I'll bet it's a long story about you being "just another victim" until ALL of the details are brought to the surface. Move to Iraq and try it for awhile. Maybe then you will appreciate the police here.

To Bess, Thank you.

To cops win again: Maybe you should get a job as a cop and then you can put your money where your mouth is. See what the job really entails then maybe you won't be so quick to judge.
Oh and while you are checking out the noise in your own back yard and you find yourself face to face with that career criminal who has a weapon and will not hesitate to take a life because you got in their way just remember...if you harm them you will be tied up in court for a good portion of your life and possibly in jail while they are released back into society and possibly living in your house they won in the lawsuit.

To Good citizen: With the recent news of 3 major organized gangs in the Temecula/Murrieta area I'd say you should be more concerned that there aren't enough cops to slow the ever growing crime rate and to deter the gangs from taking over and turning "perfect little Temecula" into another L.A. Yeah, you're right....you better watch your back.....

I was in a short term relationship with a Temecula cop and he ended up being one of the most racist people that I met. He made racist comments all the time about mexicans in the area and how they are all up to no good. That if he saw one he could find something to ticket them for.
I also know a woman Temecula cop who brags on other boards about how she and her partner has fun harassing people for the hell of it. All they did was accidently cut them off because they were in her blind spot. She posts about how they toyed with her after that and exadurated what they wrote her up for. I didn't think she was very bright for posting about that on a public e-board but I guess people get brave when they think their identity is hiden from the public.

maybe if the cops would stop harrassing the teens that aren't doing anything wrong and start getting the gang members we would have a better relationship with the police...just recently they were giving kids walking to Chaparral HS tickets for j walking!! Instead of doing that,if they REALLY cared about the kids, why didn't the police hold an assembly to educate the kids about pedestrian safety ...they see adults j walk all the time, perhaps they didn't know it was against the law! Educate, don't harrass! Why don't they concentrate on the kids NOT going to school...the management of this police department has a lot to be desired.

so what you're saying is that the police here are better than the ones in Iraq? Wow...i guess you should know. Maybe the police should go to Iraq and see how good they have it here..

I agree...until last year I was telling my son to be a policeman, but not after the harrassment he's had to go through...my son is not an angel, but he has never been caught with drugs or tested positive for alcohol when tested by our police, randomly on the street...why they stop him, i don't know. He goes to school, gets good grades, loves children and animals, loves his family, goes to church...is home every night???

I know I am new to this area, but I have had lots of Police incidents in the past. Some of you remember the riots that broke out after my first trial in the 90's.

I am usually quoted for the following,

"Can't we all just get along?"

I must disclose that I am not a cop, an ex-cop, or an ex-cops ex-wife. Nor have I had any probelms with the Police around here. I really want everyone to get along, please!

Peace out,

Looking to move to Temecula. Any advice. Is this a nice place to live? One kid left in high school. What is the name of the high school? Any crime or drugs? Hope not. Coming from Vegas to many school shootings here lately. What areas would you suggest?
Thanks PJP

Ever stop to think that just maybe some of those kids who got j walking tickets are gang members? But I guess in your mind it is ok for kids to walk in traffic...until one gets hit by a vehicle then you'll be saying the cops don't do their jobs. Damned if they do damned if they don't.
