KOA not rebuilding is a serious loss to the Tellico Plains district. As a camper this does not leave us any other choice, but to go out of the area. We love the area but other camp grounds are much too far away.
First this year,it was the Gold mining restrictions now this!!!!

Have you lost your mind? With the gorgeous, national forest right up the mountain, who in the heck would camp at the KOA?
People travel from all over to camp in the national forest. This is one of the most ignorant post I have ever read.

KOAs are the laughing stock of the camping world. Most are located next to railroad tracks. When going by this one, I always felt sorry for the ones camping there. No shade had them sticking out like taters on a fork. Also, so close to a city, what's the point?
Yes, people do travel far to camp in the Cherokee National Forest. This year alone I met some from Texas and Illinois.
I have camped all over America. The Tellico District of the Cherokee NF is one of my favoites.
