Corporaton for better housing is getting interested in Tehachapi. Watch out for them. They bring in Section 8 housing (Welfare) with your tax dollars and they make a profit from your tax dollars. Tehachapi City Council members have had closed door mtgs. They are building in Rosamond now.

Tehachapi is moving backwards. Just noticed the pictures depicting Tehachapi on this Topix site; I wasn't amused. Benz station along the 58 freeway is deplorable, it makes this town look like it's full of trash. That property should be hidden from public view. The Home Depot is another joke. The store stocks merchandise that the other stores don't sell. It's a Home Depot outlet. I just returned from an economic development symposium and Tehachapi is far behind than other cities of it size. The Wal Mart proposal was discussed...not going to help this community. Still, the city said it was pushing forward with the development. Low cost housing was discussed and the city argued that the visitors here on the weekends would be enticed to relocate here if there was affordable housing. Just what we need, prisoners from CCI having there families moving here. Kern County Planning Development and the City of Tehachapi should forget about the prisoners families and focus on what will keep Tehachap safe and moving forward.

Did you know only one person has to be 55 years old to live in the "Affordable Housing"?

Did you know 20 hours is the only requirement for an onsite manager?

We were told the residents would police themselves and tell on each other if they were not abiding by the rules!

Did you know that when a manager is not on site that the residents must call the Tehachapi Police department for any type of assistance?

Did you know the size of the apartments being proposed did not meet normal square footage requirement?

Did you know 20% of the residents do not have to be 55 or over? UMMM

Becoming? Don't you mean an out of control Shit Hole? It's not just the Kern Co development agency it's our own City Hall Officials! This place is beautiful, it was when everybody got here and now idiot's are ruining our unique town. Oh, a freakein walmart here, you got to be kidding me. What the hell is wrong with everybody? We have a growing crime problem that we never had! So what does the city and planning development officials do? Invite more crime to the area. Give me a break, the low lifes moving into the section 8 housing are surely not law abiding citizens. Look at the section 8 housing in the Santa Barbara apartment complex area, the whole area is crime ridden. Oh, but they need a place to spend their welfare checks...our tax dollars!!! Hell No we don't need more crime coming here and we sure as HELL don't need a freakin walmart. What we need is to have a RECALL on the city council who approved such a dump to be built here.

The Wal Mart is coming if we want it or not. The planning dept. and city council agreed to it years ago before anyone had any notion of it coming here. Why do you think the stores on the corner of Tucker were built not facing the highway? It's not attractive and inviting is it? That was the plan and the planning dept. and city got away with it. Now do you think that the Wal Mart is going to have the same restrictions that propery has? We will not see the back of Wal Mart from Tucker. It's not appealing. Wal Mart always gets their way.

Just what we need. I guess Wal Mart needs customers. Tehachapi has gone to hell. Wal mart is only going to make the violent crime here in Tehachapi our way of life.

Get the section 8 and the criminals who live in them out of Tehachapi. SAY NO TO WAL MART. Wal Mart is very bad for Tehachapi and it's hardworking citizens.

What do you expect when you guys let stores operate out there that cater to criminals. Really, do you think decent people want low buck dollar stores and a wal mart in their neighborhoods? Hell No! Those junk retail stores are where low life individuals prefer to shop and steel.

Where else are the criminals on welfare going to shop? Tehachapi is welcoming the low life's to the city by offering them their favorite low buck stores to spend your tax dollars in.

Get rid of section 8, wal mart, the dollar stores & the low life's that shop there and reclaim your city back.

All you did was invite violent time to your area with retail geared toward criminals.

The amount crime here in Tehachapi is going through the roof. Don't see an end in sight. While our tax dollars are going toward more Police, Sheriff F.B.I. services the country is filling the vacant homes with newly released felons. WTF.

I have just been ordered back into my home from a man in a suit at the neighboring house. There are sheriffs, police, 6 unmarked cars, the cops in uniform all have protective vest on and rifles in hand.

Tehachapi is catering to the criminals. We didn't have a crime escalation until the section 8 housing started to grow and the dollar stores to supply those people who reside in section 8 started operating here. Now Tehachapi is going to open a luxury mart for the criminals that are moving here in droves to shop with our taxes that are supporting their lazy assets.

You lowlife can move to Bakersfield or Lancaster if you really need a Walmart in your life. That crap does not belong here and neither do you.

Get rid of Wal Mart get rid of criminals on welfare. Make Tehachapi safe...Say NO to walmart NOW. If this offends you, good, get your cheap crapped ass outta here too.
