Here's a comment from a family member -- rather a complete letter -- left at the LA Weekly. You'll need to click "Show Comments." It is the 2nd comment. Some snippets below.

My experience with Villalobos dog rescue center began two years ago when my younger twin brothers Kanani Dana Chock and Keli'i Cameron Chock started working there. Prior to Villalobos, my brothers were excellent students, they were admired by peers and excelled in high school sports. However, after they started working at Villalobos, they dropped out of school and disconnected with family and friends. About a year ago, my brothers became involved with Tia Torres' husband Aren Marcus Jackson, who had recently gotten out of jail. He had been in jail for approx 14 years for the attempted murder of two Orange county police officers. My brothers moved into a house on the Villalobos dog rescue center property. About nine months ago, we found out Kanani and Keli'i were using crystal meth intravenously. When confronted with the drug use, my brothers promised to quit. Three weeks ago, I got a call that Keli'i had been hospitalized due to a drug overdose...

....During this time that we learned that Kanani had been arrested for suspicion of possessing methamphetamine during a September 6th raid on the house on the Villalobos property. In addition, I heard that the officers found eight ballons of heroin on the property. To confirm this please refer to the police report. No one from the Chock family was contacted. Allegedly, Tia Torres posted bail, which was $10,000, and picked Kanani up from the police station...

Commenting on someones grammar or spelling on the internet only shows your own ignorance. Not everyone is allotted the same opportunities as everyone else, especially concerning an education. Not everyones' first language is English either, something you should keep in mind, especially online.

My comment is for the sister of thr two boys that live with Tia. Not to take sides but on the show Tia says the boys were abandoned and she took them in. They call her mom. And they dont look like dopeheads on tv. Seconded if this is true that they truned bad after the influnce of Tia dont you think the network would know and drop her show if there was drug trafficing going on?Just saying.

If they were still in high school, why were they allowed to move in with the Villalobos crew?

Great show. Fantastic. Wish I lived near you guys to help out. Our own precious bluenose pit is the love of our lives. Once u have a pitbull there are no other breed like them. They are so sinned against as a breed. If u love them and r good to them they are the greatest breed to have. Tia. You once said "my dogs can do no wrong in my eyes". I feel the same way. I would give my own life for my pitbull. My kids, husband and I consider us all a part of his pack. To me. I am his mommie. He is one of my kids. Pitbulls rule. Love ur show. God bless.

I think what Tia and her family does is one of the greatest things. Pit bulls have been under a this bad name for such a long time and in my opinion they react to how they have been raised and if any breed can pull through a bad situation it's a pit bull. They want nothing but love and they need more people like Tia and her family on their side. If you have never had a pit bull in ur family you have no idea what your missing. My husband and I have an American pit bull terrier Koda Dawn and a rat terrier mix.. Our rat terrier is more aggressive then our Koda Dawn.. This a lot of rambling but I just wish more people would see that these dogs aren't evil dogs and that we should all be thankful for the every thing Tia and her family has done for these dogs and these men just trying to get their lives straight. Thank all of you for what you do every day for these poor dogs..

Your comment seems totally bogus to me! If there was something going on like them being hospitalized for drugs they would not have been allowed to return to Tia! If you are so concerned why didn't you bring them home. I think this is just a way for you to get some press. It's just sad I think living with Tia is the first time in their lives that these guys have felt some self worth. Thank G-d they found Tia she saved them.

These aren't children, an 18 or 19 year old is an adult. They were arrested for drugs on that property. I'm not sure exactly what Tia saved them from, boredom? From what I understand, the family of the twins were involved in interventions getting them help for their drugs. Tia sprung one of them from rehab. This is all public record. I don't know any of these people, but anyone who considers shootouts with police "kid stuff" when talking about the32 67 prisoner she wrote and then married, has a credibility issue with me.

They did the drugs....bottom line. Your brothers are responsible for the choice they made to get high. NOT TIA or her organization that you are trying to defame. Your brothers if we're responsible would have gone to authorities. The did the drugs...bottom line. I hope the choose to get help

I think that if my family members were minors in high school and were doing something that was bad for them, I would move heaven and hell to get them help or home.
The story the family member tells is not what Kanani and Keli'i tell so I have to go with what they say.
Unfortunately, a ton of teens experiment with drugs. You cannot blame that on Tia.
Plus it seems like a lot of after the fact concern. I wouldn't let my teenagers stay for days at end at someone's house. Where were your parents? Why didn't they intervene? If they did I am sure you would have posted that also. I think Tia has had a lot of hard knocks in life yet she still gets up every day and cares for those who have no one. Look at Earl. He admits what he did wrong, said he was stupid and all he wanted was a chance. Tia gave it to him and he seems to be an amazing person.
Plus the twins do not have the look of meth heads. I have seen them and the twins are not. I am an RN I know what I am talking about.
I am sorry if you feel your brothers went down hill after that, they claim Tia saved them and until I have hard evidence that they are not being truthful I believe Tia and the twins. I am sure Tia did not need to support, feed, house and clothe two additional teenagers but did it out of the kindness of her heart. If more people were like Tia and did charity work the world would be a much better place.

There actually are several police reports filed against workers of Villalobos... You can plainly look at the show and see they are trashy meth heads. Sure Tia rescues pittbulls but very little money raised by Villalobos goes to their care opting to do the animal planets show to offset most of the finacial overhead. Leaving the question what happend to the thousands raised each month. I would hope something good. But the fact is it doesn't. There is areason Tia moved to New Orleans or stay and be under the microscope of law enforcement in California for documented chriminal acts.

"Trashy meth heads"? You obviously haven't seen a real meth head. What you see on Pit Bulls and Parolees are just that: parolees. Guys who are covered in tattoos and piercings, guys who have had some rough times in gangs and prisons, guys who have made bad choices in the past, but now are trying to do meaningful work instead. Does that mean they should be ostracized for the rest of their lives? I guess you think so. I hope a recidivist mugs you.
If you read those CA police reports and hear accounts of what happened in CA, it seems the police were targeting the Villalobos workers. Why? Because they were easy targets. Parolees working with "dangerous" dogs in isolated areas are easy to arrest and convict.
You should note that since Villalobos has been in New Orleans, they haven't had any trouble with law enforcement, and in fact have become valued allies of law enforcement there.
