not at all I was asked to take one a few yrs back and I refused because I was the victim of the crime and they didn't even asked the criminal to take one I told them I would if he would and they didn't make him so I refused to take one too he was the one that did wrong not me and I knew my rights and I wouldn't let the cops bully me into doing something that Governor Tim Kaine said himself they can not force victims of a sex crime to take a polygraph its wrong and they should never even ask!

I wouldn't necessarily say guilty if they refused. One can have results that are inconclusive based solely on certain neurological disorders that go otherwise un-noticed. I know if I was asked to take one I would certainly be intimidated. I don't trust the cops around here b/c they always rely on rats to do their work for them. I would be afraid they would screw me, no way I would take a lie detector test to prove anything in this county!

Can you take the polygraph to prove he is guilty of whatever the crime is? If this is a sexual assault then I think it is f**ked up that you the victim would have to take a polygraph. HELP I don't know your story honey but this is exactly why I said no I wouldn't take the polygraph, you can't trust these cops in our area. It's a real shame that you can have what, 6 weeks training or some bs & then get a badge & then make arrests based on what an informant gets for you not an actual police investigation and then bully women on top of it!!!!!!! Shame on the cops!!!! Girl you need to push this til something is done!!! Go to anyone that will listen to you!!!

I don't agree. It's just too scary to trust the county to hire a reputable person to give the test. If you feel like you could pass a polygraph then you need to insist on bringing one in from way out of town/state. I personally wouldn't let the court find someone. Too sketchy.

If polygraphs were 100% accurate they would be allowed in courts. Since they aren't then there's reason to believe innocent until proven guilty.

i would say 99.9 percent is pretty dam good odds ,and it my not be used in Court but it,s a great bargaining tool between lawyers.

So you have to take the polygraph? Did you at least get to choose the guy that gives you the test? I'm telling you I read this article about neurological problems that are so minor that they aren't even diagnosed b/c they aren't problematic BUT when someone with these problems takes a lie detector it can cause false results or cause the test to be unreadable. I wish I knew a little bit more about your situation but I can see why you wouldn't want to say a lot. I'm truly sorry that you, the victim have to prove your telling the truth. Does he have to take one also? Don't you worry about his lies honey b/c the more lies he tells the more likely he is to hang himself in court. Lie detector tests when given properly are very effective so if he does take it, they will know if he's lying...I'm very curious to know who (your lawyer, the county, the judge) actually finds and hires the person that gives the polygraph.

That's why they ask certain question before they give the test like your name so if you lie about that i guess there a problem are you don't know your own name i mean come on.

All i can say is for the last year this person has filed 6 false charges and they finally took notice that maybe the kids who is 22 doesn't work spends his time harassing my family is lying and he was charged with filing false charges. But i wonder who is footing the bill every time the sheriff had to come out to where we live.
