I'm bisexual, I know I'm bisexual, and it's not a choice I made to be bisexual. My husband, Jeremy, knows I'm bisexual and he doesn't see anything wrong with it. My husband is heterosexual, he knows who he is and his sexuality, and is comfortable around diverse people.

My uncle, who is 49 has been in a long-term committed same-sex relationship for the past 19 years. People have such an issue with him fighting for his rite to be married to his same-sex partner of 19 years, yet those same people cheat on each other, been divorced more than once, meddle in his life and talk down on him. Thankfully, my uncle doesn't feed the haters and allow them to talk, because he doesn't care.

Something about my sexual orientation to not confuse people. Yes, bisexuals exist---some of us don't hide in the "gay closet". I am married to my husband, and before I met him I was physically and sexually attracted to men, as well as emotionally and mentally connected to men. I'm only physically and sexually attracted to women, hence, why relationships with the same-sex for me doesn't work out because I'm not connected with the same-sex as I am with the opposite-sex. Plus, I don't love someone based on their lower regions. A penis is a penis and a vagina is a vagina---it's how I connect with the person.

It seems like a lot of people have this huge issue with same-sex couples being granted their rite to marry. I've debated with people on the religious context of "marriage", to how they believe it's a choice, to people who feel it's perverted and disgusting, you name it I've debated it. But I just want to know: how does two consenting adults of the same sex who want to be married affect your life and/or your marriage?

Same-sex marriages do not affect me or my marriage. Opposite-sex marriages sometimes do affect me and my marriage, especially when women want to meddle around in my husband and my's life, but we get through it. But most opposite-sex marriages don't affect me or my marriage.

I'm not a Christian, but I do have my beliefs, so I don't believe it's a sin. And if those who claim it's a sin, they need to worry about themselves, correct their way of living life, and stop trying to get between other peoples happiness.

The only thing I would have to say is if it affects you so bad, you have personal issues within yourself---perhaps it's repressing your inner thoughts and feelings towards the same-sex; denying feelings towards the same-sex, etc. What two people do behind closed doors is none of my business. Who someone loves is none of my business. And how two people live their lives openly is none of my business. So why do people make it their business? Why do people claim it affects them and their marriage?

If same-sex marriages affect your marriage stop blaming it on LGB individuals, that's your marital problems so don't place the blame on them. When my husband and I fight we don't say, "If it wasn't for gay people we wouldn't be having this fight." Start taking responsibility in your life and/or your marriage and stop blaming the world for them.

No Way, I'll look over your ignorance for a moment. And actually, there are queer people in the world...there are gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgendered, and queers. In some states it is legal for same-sex marriage such as the District of Columbia (D.C.), New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, Conneticut, Iowa, California, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Maine.

But you didn't tell why you think two "queers" shouldn't be married. Is it your ignorance of understanding and accepting someone who is different than you? Are you repressing same-sex attractions and feelings and you're only defense is to keep yourself away from it? Do you feel that by allowing same-sex marriages legal will somehow affect your way of living life? Do you feel it'll destroy your life and/or marriage?

What's going to happen when same-sex couples are granted their rite to marry in all the other 39 states? Are you afraid that homosexuals will somehow turn heterosexual people gay (I have had many people that have said that if it becomes legal then the world will be gay)?

Give me a reason? If you think it's disgusting, well there's a lot of things that I find disgusting with people who find it's okay to cheat on their spouse, beat their spouse, neglect their spouse, and if it's about the anal sex---I enjoy anal sex, so does many heterosexual and bisexual women. If you think it's unnatural, then you need to explore your horizons of research, education, and opening your eyes and socializing with other walks of life.

It does not DIRECTLY affect me but it makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't think men should marry men or women, women. I think it's wrong, I think it's bad to teach kids these days that's it's ok to be that way. Normal? Well what is normal really? I know what it's not though. I know gay people and hope one day they may be healed of these mental ailments. I'm sorry "no hate" that your husband does not make you happy. If he did you wouldn't seek relations outside the sanctuary of your marriage and that's where things aren't "normal". Call me a "idiot" or a "hater" tell me I can't spell and I'm an a** therefore but there is one thing you definitely can't call me.... and that's GAY or a gayism promoter. I would seek professional help for my child if they ever even thought that way. I would try to understand what I'm doing wrong as a parent to make my child like that. I don't believe your born that way.... if so why don't we have gay monkey's, or ANY other animal. because your NOT born with that defect... it's a learned behavior. Thank you for reading my post and allowing me to say what I have to say.

I'm sorry that you feel so uncomfortable around same-sex couples. One fact is that homosexuality is not a disorder, nor is it a sickness, nor is it a choice. I'll look over your ignorance, though. Have you ever heard of the "American Psychological Association"? Well, the American Psychological Association called all practicing psychologists in 1975 to take the lead of removing all the negative stigma of mental illnesses that was associated with lesbian, gay and bisexual orientations.

Here's a link to educate yourself before you speak based on assumptions: http://www.apa.org/helpcenter/sexual-orientat...

I'm bisexual, but I'm devoted to my husband. I never said one thing about me cheating on my husband, or having sex with women within or outside of my marriage. And trying to convert someone's sexual orientation actually does more harm to your child. As a mother, I would think that you would be understanding of your child, educate yourself to be a better mother to your child if that child knew they were gay or had same-sex feelings, and to always support that child and not make your child feel less worthy of your love and support.

And we do have homosexuality in all aspects of nature. And yes, there are homosexual monkeys. Chimpanzees have been studied and exhibit homosexual and heterosexual behavior. Did you know that there are over 1500 species that have homosexual and bisexual behavior? I guess not. Here's another link to educate yourself on homosexuality displayed in animal species:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animals_...

I would say, your intelligence is blinded by your lack of understanding and knowledge, so before you "think" you know what you're talking about, try "knowing" what you talk about.

Apparently your guess is correct, you are an idiot. I find idiots much more offensive than gays. It is very sad some people have to live that way. Maybe you will have a short life span and won't have to live that way long.

@Crazy: And what exactly should be on Topix, considering people have this wild obsession over talking negative about people they know and/or don't know anything about. Marriage equality is a civil rights issue that a lot of people seem to be creating controversy over. I've done a lot of observations and found that most people who disagree with it are people who have a lack of understanding and tolerance for same-sex couples based off of ignorant assumptions.

So, please inform me of what should and should not be on Topix?

Why would it affect anyone? Girls who don't want same-sex marriages legal are just hatin' because all the hot guys are gay and then would be taken, and guys the same. How come anytime a gay guy comes around a straight guy they want to act like big pussies? Have some balls guys...just because he's gay doesn't mean he wants you, just like when guys stand near me they think I want them...sorry, I may be a slut but I have high expectations. Guys who are homophobic are gay!!! HOMOPHOBIA IS GAY!!!
If you think a guy wants you just because he's gay than you're kidding yourself...just come out of the closet already before your secret comes out because secrets can never be kept forever. And guys, all you straight guys...have the decency to post a face pic...no bitch is gonna fuk you if you don't even have the balls to post your pic.
It's unfortunate your such a nut. We were having a conversation here then you add your filthy talk... let's see what happens when someone get's "reported" cause I just reported you..... I may have a difference in opinion on this topic but I sure didn't talk filthy like this.

@SucksAlottaCox---although I know you were just throwing in your 2 cents, I rather you keep the profanity down and the dirty talk to yourself. Not all homophobic people are gay---it's just their taught different from others, some are very religious on the topic and don't know any better, and some people just troll the forums to start arguments and fights. And in some way it seems as though you're trying to "provoke" an argument and fight and that is not the reason I start forum topics.

I do agree with some things you said about how "some" guys are homophobic due to insecurities, and yes some homophobic people men and women are in the closet and they cover it up by attacking others who are in the LGBTQ community, but we shouldn't stereotype all homophobic people with people who are on the down-low. Just like we shouldn't stereotype all blonds to be stupid, or every Christian to be self-centered and holy than thou, or every gay men to be flamboyant and every lesbian to be masculine. We cannot label people for the way some people in their groups act.

And please, don't say "homophobia is gay", because that's sorta of saying that everyone who is gay is homophobic. Homophobia is ignorant, childish, and hate. There are people who don't agree or accept gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and queer in questioning, but that doesn't make someone homophobic. I have friends who don't accept the fact I'm bisexual, but the respect and tolerate that about me because I'm more than just a bisexual woman.

You seem to come off as a bully in some ways, and your screen name says a lot about you as a person. If you want to tell the world you suck a lot of penis that's your business, but it says a lot about your self-respect. You said you have high-expectations and it's hard to believe such a statement, because to be a "slut" means you have no high expectations. I'm not telling you who you should be as a person, I'm just saying you should set a good example to yourself and others. And please don't plaster your dirty mouth on my topics---there's other ways to say what you want to say without using profanity and dirty language.

Have a good one.
