If you/someone you know has had her baby in a hospital, how much did it cost?
Also, please include which hospital and what kind of birth (vaginal or c-section) and whether the total includes insurance or medicare or whatever. And also the year...cause costs from the 1980's are real different from today!

Thanks for sharing!

wow I hate to think it costs anything to have a baby does it? Gosh, I'm curious myself now. Are you getting ready to have a baby? How exciting yet crappy you have to even worry about unhappy things like how much it's gonna cost to have it. I have never had children so wouldn't know to help pass the info your searching for. I have had friends say that Richlands is better than Tazewell, I guess they treat you better? Good luck and don't worry to much about the cost just enjoy your pregnancy. You can always get on a payment plan afterwards I'm sure. do you know what your having? Thought of any names yet? If I was to ever have a boy I think I would go Joeseph Edward even though my husband would want a Junior since he is himself but a little girl I like Nichole Lynn. Have a great day and relax!!

If your pregnant cost not gonna matter. Your bring another life in this world. You should feel blessed. But I understand the worry. And for the person who commented on Tazewell Hospital. They don't deliver anymore haven't in years. Only time they do is in emergency stituations (my spelling off) It does cost alot to have one If you are pregnant and have no insurance there is help out there.

I had my baby at Bluefield Regional in 2011. We have Anthem BCBS insurance. The costs were right at $28,000 for labor, delivery, and care for the baby (insurance covered all but a couple hundred dollars). This is probably higher than it is for most people because he required six days of hospital care after birth. Hope that helps!
