There seems to be three major candidates in the lead for the Republican nomination in 2012; Romney, Bachmann and Perry. Who is the strongest candidate to defeat Obama, and why do you think so?

Geez! None of you regular Obama haters can pick one Republican? Looks like Obama in 2012 then.

If I were a Republican, I couldn't pick one of the three either! All three are empty suits. I can't blame you Repubs for not responding.

Even if Herman Cain doesn't get the nomination I'm still going to vote for whoever runs against Obama. I never imagined we could have such a thin skinned, jelly-spined president who is scared to make a firm decision on anything and takes criticism about as well as a high school girl.

For the Repube nomination? Cain. For the general election? Not Obama.

Cain makes good points, but does not have enough clout to win the nomination in my opinion. It will come down to Perry or Romney as the nominees since Bachmann is doing a fast fade away and I believe she has ran the gambit. Perry has made some foolish statements ( Texas to seceed, doing away with Social Security) that will hurt him, and I believe that many right wing christians Republicans in the south will sit it out if Romney is the nominee simply because he is a Latter Day Saint. 2012 will be interesting.

I want someone who is not a career politician, someone who thinks differently than idiots who have spent way too many years in politics.

After Cain, there isn't anyone who meets that criteria. I think that many people would support you in that analysis of career politicians. I support term limits, but since career politicians make the rules, in reality it is just not going to happen anytime soon. It appears from the poles, it will be Romney or Perry vs. Obama. Cain may be a good VP choice for one of them though.

Jon Huntsman is the only Republican that I would consider. But even he, as a Latter Day Saint like Romney, would suffer in the south as many right wing fundamentalist christians are simply not going to support that in a candidate. And western states, where that would be more acceptable, do not have enough electoral votes to carry the election for him. Perry's previous statements are going to bury him. So, it appears to be Romney vs. Obama. If that is the case, I am going Obama.Herman Cain will possibly be Romney's VP choice. That could split the black vote.

Well, Herman Cain is going the route of Clarence Thomas in the area of sexual harrassment from the past that he can't remember details of and digging a big political hole for himself in denial of it happening. Maybe Anita Hill needs to be hired by his campaign to help jog his memory. And if elected President, maybe he and Clarence can work together to get sexual harrassment overturned by the Supreme Court. Herman is toast! Sorry groucho, but he will not be the VP nominee either. Romney will be the nominee by the R's and will be defeated by Obama. Bank on it America.
