You can go all around Taylorsville and all you see are deadbeats. Awe somebody had some of my comments removed, maybe I struck a nerve. But really all this town is good for is unemployment and dope. I hate bums. People should really make better choices in thier lives. Maybe we should all get on unemployment and get f**cked up all day. And DSS-- lets give all of our money to people who are here illegal--the hell with the working people that need help. Don't worry we'll make it, maybe!!!!!! I hope this gets read by someone that gets pissed off because I'm just getting started.

Don't get me started on deadbeats,Like deadbeat
DADs I'm from SC and the Deadbeat I'm talking about lives in Taylorsville or hes moved again to
avoid paying child support. What child support, I haven't received not one dime and the child I have of his will soon be 15 years old. He has not seen this child in 12years. He's a looser and don't have a job or never had one. Has 2 other children. Not paying for any of them. So when you
start talking about deadbeats, He's the number one
on my list. They call him BUGGY... What a name.

I am from Taylorsville, but no longer live there. I also am dealing with a Deadbeat dad. I recently found out that you can do a TPR, which means strip the childs parental rights, BUT the father be still held responsible for paying child support, and keeping that child insured. A TPR is done when the absent parent has not seen, or had contact with the child/children in 6 months and longer. Of course you gotta hire a Lawyer to do this, but the Lawyer can find the absent no good father for you, and hold him responsible. Since the child lives with you court proceedings will take place in your town or county. The father of my children hasn't seen his children since 2002, and very very little phone contact since 2002, but then he will tell other people he only has 3 children and not mention his biological 4. The 3 he is talking about are his girlfriends kids. If I were you I would definitely check into a TPR.

Oops typo. I meant to say strip the fathers parental rights, and not say the childs.

Hey now, the people of Alexander county clearly enjoy living in an impoverished shit hole. Otherwise they would allow liquor by the drink to pass and allow more businesses to set up shop there.

Like maybe Catawba County's high tax rate is what everyone in Alexander County wants to strive for. But, you may have a point. Maybe living in Catawba County is a real life time dream of perfection for all us impoverished shit hole dwellers to consider.

Well I don't see any more manufacturing jobs heading to Alexander County, so they need to do something to spur economic growth.

That would be a good idea for all regions...how to do it is the big question. I agree with your previous post on alcohol sales in Alexander County. I worked in the past to get this accomplished, but the Baptist contingency is just too strong. Here they have money and power. They come to your county to drink and boost your economy.

I retract any disparaging comment I have made towards you. I lived in Taylorsville back in 2007, so I appreciate your efforts. I was extremely disappointed when that vote failed by less than 100.

Thanks Zack...I appreciate it. Notice in that election for the town that the Baptist ministers in the county managed the anti-alcohol campaign and were in attendance on election day. Not one minister lived within the town limits. They also put bogus facts out in their leaflets to feed the fear element of the voting public. Hard to defeat ignorance and narrow-mindedness who have both money and power.

I know! I hated driving home from work and seeing those billboards covered in propaganda. When they laid us off at CS, there was no reason for me to stay in Taylorsville. I know it's childish, but if I ever win the lottery, my first priority is getting liquor by the drink passed in Alexander County. Maybe open up another theater as well.

Isn't it ironic that the very ones who complain that all of our freedoms are being taken away, are usually the very ones who are removing freedoms like smoking cigarettes in a public place and denying you the right to have an alcoholic drink in a restaurant. I neither drink nor smoke, but I feel that my fellow citizens who choose to do these simple things have the right to exercise these freedoms.

The funniest part about it is that the people who are opposed to freedom of choice are the same ones who know where to get the best moonshine in Alexander County and probably has some friend/relative who grows tobacco for them.

......put the bread on the top of the grocery bag so the six pack and Marlboros at the bottom are non detectable...LOL...I hate hypocrisy on any level...but particularly religious moral hypocrisy. I personally think that it is held accountable as a "greater sin", and one that Jesus himself seemed to indicate in scripture as being very deplorable.
