For the last several months, I have set back and watched you, your husband, and your colleagues "stir" things here in Newport. Acutally, it has been more you. Your husband has been more of the quiet one. He has probably been more behind the scenes that anything. Anyways, I am not saying change is not in order to a small degree but not to the extent you have exerted to myself and various citizens in Newport.
Mr. Brandt and the board should be commended for their labors. They have tough jobs with pressing issues, especially with the budget constraints in Kentucky for this school year and the upcoming years. You can set back and be critical of the job they have done, but you have not sit in one of those seats yet. Well, not until now. Congratulations are in order based on the results I have seen online.
However, I would much rather leave the congratulations for now and pose you the following question: "What are you going to do to make a difference for the students of Newport?" As a former student and current citizen of Newport, I am concerned about your true reason for being on the board. However, that is not for me to judge. As a citizen, it is my right to inform you that I do hold you accountable for the decisions you make that will impact the students of Newport (just as I hold all of the board members responsible).
Based on other postings, I know the rumor is that you had an agenda based on an alliance with Mr. McCafferty to help him in his future endeavors to be superintendent. However, I hope you will complete some fact checking before you make an alliance of that type. Cincinnati Public Schools found this out the hard way as they were searching for a new superintendent this year. I wouldn't want you or members of the board to go through an embarassing situation like the CPS board did. Anyways, I would like to think that this rumor is false. If McCafferty was as good as some people think, he should already have a job as a superintendent. Don't you think? However, he does not. Thus, he is in Newport. My hope and desire is that you will leave the negativity, anger, and attitude that you have exemplified over the last several months home each month when you represent the citizens at each board meeting. I pray that you will examine yourself, your motives, and your desires each time you make a decision.
Yes, I am a Christian as well. A born again child of God who is blood bought and Bible taught. In a previous posting you called yourself a Christian with Christian beliefs. However, based on your actions over the last several months, I ask you the following question: "Would Jesus have been proud of the way you represented Him in meetings, conversations, and dialogue throughout Newport?" Based on conversations from my fellow citizens, I am disappointed with your conduct and professionalism as you represent Newport and myself. I pray that you and your husband will examine yourselves prior to taking oath to represent me on the Newport Schools Board of Education. I pray that God will guide both you, your husband, and the other board members each time you make a decision. I pray that you will not be quick to judge and will always choose what is in the best interest of our kids.
Thank you for listening. I am only a concerned citizen of 47 years who cares about education here in Newport. I pray that this message is received out of love and nothing else.
The Cinn problem started when they HIRED BRANDT AND THE FAILING NEVER HAS ENDED AFTER HE LEFT Rich .h

I was told that Mrs. Parson's has NO intention of ever sending her kid to the Newport Middle School. Should this be someone elected to the Newport Board of Education?

Janean - Welcome to the club of those whose family, reputation, and personal integrity have been attacked. Not fun, is it. Just for the record, your "opponents" had nothing to do with the handout. It was done by an independent group of citizens of Newport, aka voters. Elections are no fun. Sorry you've learned that the hard way. Andrea

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Pisces

This is a great day for understanding what's going on under the surface of things and for tuning into the subtle messages that others are sending out. For instance, someone may say one thing yet you'll be utterly convinced that they really mean something quite different. However, they won't like it if you say so, so you'll have to maintain a tactful and discreet silence.
