Traveling to Tawas for the week...

I am 22 years old traveling with a relative who will be on business during the week and I decided to tag along.

I've read lots of ideas on what to do around the Tawas area I was just looking for a little more personal insight on things to do.

Are there any local bars/pubs that cater to a younger crowd? Not that it really matters, just looking for something to do during the evenings like shoot some pool and have a drink or two.

Also, can you walk the entire length of the beach to Tawas Point from East Tawas or is some of that beach private property?

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Bring a good book to read and some sunscreen. We're a small town filled with old people & tourists. We only have 3 bars- 1 in E.Tawas, 1 in Tawas City, & 1 south of town. They cater to whoever walks through the door.

As for walking the beach, technically you can walk along the shore anywhere you want, private property or not (at least according to the supreme court), but you're probably better off driving (or biking) down to the State Park.

we are going to Tawas for a family reioun.. is their agates in the saginaw bay? where is a good place their to get some rocks?

Thats really more a Lake Superior (U.P.) thing.
