Medical marijuana meeting was a success
We had a great turnout on Wednesday night June 17 at the Greenbush Township Hall for our third Northeast Michigan Medical Marijuana Compassion Club meeting. We are a small organization recently established to help people understand the new laws and assist them in the legal process to grow, possess and use medical marijuana in Michigan legally.
Marijuana is now legal in our state as medicine. However not everyone can get it. First you must meet certain medical qualifications before you become legal
Our next meeting is July 15 at the Greenbush Township Hall 7-9 pm. The meeting is open to everyone however you must be 18 or be with an adult. Check us on www.nemicompassionclub.ning.com

We the people voted last nov to let the sick and disabled use medical marijuana. However isoco county feels it was neccessary to lock up a 62 year old grandmother and charged her with a "FELONY" even though she has a medical Marijuanan card and is legal.

the big drug bust ""two small plants 5 inches tall.....

Gramma is now home and set for trail next week

your taxdollars at work ..However you will be glad to know there was a fellow there that had a mistrial with CSC charges that got to go free

this is a major injustice .we the people pass this with a 63% vote ..this gestapo nazi tactics must stop... people should not have to live in fear over a plant that give them relief and a quality of life

Stop arresting the sick and disabled? why do they do it? maybe they just like an easy mark.. Gramma has a walker and can't go very fast

Get a real job law enforcement and start getting some real criminals off the street

Really? police and prosecutors are wasting our tax money big time. First this new law, then Obama saying this week he won't bother spending money going after medical patients but we continue to waste money. I did not vote for this law so we could send sick peole to jail...TT

You are wrong... The police haven't left anyone alone. Tell that to the people in bad axe when the cops busted a medical grow and destroyed medicine for patients cause they didn't know the law.
or the people who was sitting in their house feeling secure and being good legal patients when their door got busted down for no reason cause the cops didn't know the law or just didn't care.

Bottom line is a lot of leos don't like the new law.. The days of easy bust of people in wheelchairs is coming to a end. They can't harass little old ladies with walkers just because they are an easy target

How many times do we hear ignorance of the law is no excuse?
The law was passed by 63% of michigan voters last fall It's here so people better learn it and get use to it
were patients.... were legal and we're not going away

Here we are, our schools are not properly funded, services including police are being cut back, and we are spending our tax money to persecute and prosecute elderly women with obvious medical conditions. Even the federal government has come to it's sense on this issue. We don't need to spend our money on such ridiculous things. There is real crime going on in this county, lets focus on that. Will you feel safer with a crippled lady in jail? Is that the bang for the buck you expect?

If we continue to spend money on this crap, we need to cut back funding for those involved. Police/prosecutors/judges your lack of common sense is going to bite you in the backside where your wallet is.

Sometimes civil disobedience is in order. It has been a staple of our society. Does Boston tea party sound familiar? How about civil rights? If no one broke the law we would be a colony of England yet. In this case the Marijuana law in MI passed overwhelmingly. The feds made it official and are not going to bother with marijuana. And we bury our head in the sand

Well anyone who's ever been to the Tawas area can attest that just about all of the police officers in the area are bored and looking for action. Good luck trying to get face-time on C.O.P.S for busting sick elderly women jerkoffs.
