champion ambulance

United States

Okay! I called the ambulance two weeks ago for my daughter having a seizure and after 17 minutes they arrived. Now I open a bill for $1680.00 for a ride to a hospital I isn't want to go to in the first place. Anyone else dealing with this ?

Make sure you call the EMS and they have your insurance. Due to the changes in healthcare, you do not get to choose the hospital you would like to go to. You have to go to the closest one. Arrival time depends on the call the EMS was on and where it came from. To step foot in an ambulance is going to cost you about 1000.00 and then your charged by the mile.

I know the base charge just to put you in the box is $585 and 7.25 a mile. That's if we do nothing at all for you except be a taxi. The price rockets if you get an iv and more so if you get the monitor. Making 470 calls on avg a month totals 3mil a year for them. If we weren't making money we wouldn't stay here.
