1 Yes it is rising!! Do you blame any of it on the Hispanic culture saturating the area or the temporary employees hired & brought in to expand the growth? The Government is only as good as 'we' elect and put in control...what's feeding this crime frinzy? But then Hobbs has always been a mean little town since back in the '50-60's. |

Let's not forget that a long time ago most of the mothers were not working. It's a good thing that there are less people on welfare but with it comes a set of new problems, children are not supervised as they used to be in the past. Most of the mothers that work... their mothers have to work also. If you qualify for a program that will care for the children until the mother is out of work that helps. For those mothers that have to work weekends and nights it's not that easy. There are fathers that have none or very little to do with their children. There are circumstances where the mother or father do not care about supervising their children but that ocurrs in all races. There are those that can't afford sitters or daycares and don't qualify for programs or on a waiting list. I'm so tired of hearing about blacks, hispanics when the subject of crime arises. Do people forget about "911"? People of all races died that day and days after. I've been around small towns and believe me I've seen where people of a certain social status have all kinds of crime swept under the carpet. I've been through the loss of a child he was murdered. I do agree that the leniency of New Mexico laws in the reason that crime continues to escalate. The district attorneys are busy with case after murder case which makes it difficult to get convictions or convictions that are suitable to the crime. By the way my son did turn the other cheek and was killed anyway.

you know what the community really needs is a good positve hangout where some one can uplift our children, that come out of broken homes and due to drugs and alcohol. maybe thats where the anger comes from. betrayel comes into their life. fear, darkness and no trust. they feel abanded, so theres where our children go from good to bad. maybe they need soul searching or some one to help those that are criying out. for some one to minister toour children. no one is perfect we all make mistakes, but i believe people change. god only knows. if he changed me and my husband anyone could change. my life was full of darkness, hatred, anger and had a heartened heart, but now i stepped into the light, where we found my lord jesus christ. hope to be back home in a year but were going to reach the lost souls in that community. we are praying for all the people in hobbs and peace officers as well as all the government leaders. i plead ahedge of protection and the blood of the lamb over everyone of you. amen.
