Let's support America's economy, not Japan's!

Here’s what I mean:
A Friday ago, I wanted to throw a shoe at the TV (not Bush).
NBC was talking to a newly jobless couple whose house is in foreclosure. On the driveway was a Nissan. I shouted at the TV,“Hey, Guys, a couple in Japan are bowing in gratitude at you for their Nissan jobs.”
Jobless Americans driving Japanese cars or trucks....helping to put even more Americans out of work! Duh!!!!!!
And then I see people trying to ease their consciences by putting U.S. flag decals on their prides of Japan. Ugh!
So, when I see someone parking one I want to say:“Hey, you’re hurting America’s economy.” But I’m chicken.
I tell myself, THEY DON’T KNOW. For 20 years now the Japanese have been seducing us. They cleverly give their vehicles American-sounding names. And year after year our media has been giving them billions of free advertising that they’re supposedly better than ours.* And we get flooded with seductive Japanese ads. So, no wonder after 20 years of this, so many think driving Japanese is cool, even snobbish:“I drive a Lexus!”
(*But see March ‘09 Owens report: Buick tops Lexus. Lincoln & Mercury in top 5. Yes, today the only quality differences between Japanese and American, are those in people’s minds influenced by SLANTED writings of automotive writers, who try to justify what’s parked on their driveways.)
Whatever, the Japanese have done a masterful job on us! They’re darn shrewd!
Now, I expect Toyota and Honda people to jump me with their usual pitch:“Hey, America gets jobs from building our cars and trucks! They’re built in the USA by Americans. So, they’re American.” HOGWASH!!!!!!
Fact: MOST, Japanese cars and trucks sold in America come from Japan by boat. As to those assembled here, we get about 250,000 jobs as a result.
And, is it that important:(1) where vehicles are assembled, and (2) where parts come from? No! That’s because what really counts is where profits end up: what country gets the benefits from sales in America. As to this, every year Japanese automaker mother-corporations in Japan reap billions in profits from sales in the USA. Yes, almost one-third of their income comes from America. And these yearly billions support Japan’s economy, NOT America’s.
So, we’re Japan’s cash cow! This, despite almost 50 million of us with no health care, 37 million in poverty, 12 million kids hungry every day, 77,000 bridges close to collapse, highways crumbling, intercity schools deteriorating, and unemployment at 8.5%; 12.5 million and climbing.
Despite such ugly facts, we’re feeding Japan? And, do the Japanese reciprocate? Can we build and sell cars in Japan? No! They won’t buy them! Unlike us, they’re fiercely loyal to their own products. In effect, their 160-million-person market is closed to us. They’ve even refused to buy our apples. The Japanese believe in fair trade everywhere but in Japan.
At least the Germans, who sell cars here, buy from us in Germany. And the Chinese do too. They love our cars. So do all Europeans.
Now back to the jobs the Japanese “give” us: Let’s say, adding suppliers, we get 300,000. Well, it’s estimated, we’ve already lost close to a million jobs from our “FOREIGN-CAR-I-TIS.” And if we keep ignoring our affliction, and American makers continue to lose market, estimates say up to 4 or 5 million persons will lose jobs. And some predict with trickle-down impact it will be more like 6 million.
In sum, the Japanese give us 300,000 jobs, and in turn we lose up to 6 million. This is OK? We just belly up, accept this?
NO! NO! That’s not the American way! We’re not quitters! We must fight back by supporting our own industry: FEED HANDS THAT FEED US!
DRIVE AMERICAN! Support our own economy, not some foreign country’s.
P.S. Please use the email link at the top-upper-right and send this message to many persons!

America's economy is doomed. Just look at the recent trade deficit. America needs to stop buying so much oil from foregin nations. America needs to stop buying so much stuff from China. America needs to stop outsourcing so many IT jobs to India.
