How many fights is there going to be at the parking lot at the bank before something is done about it?

I know there was a fight there Monday night when a 19 yr old got serious hurt and had to go get stitches above his eye because he was jumped by 7 or 8 kids (which were minors) at once and once of the kids had brass knuckles. I know the police department doesn't believe he got hit with brass knuckles but when the kid that hit him is going around town bragging about using them on several kids then I tend to think the cops didn't search any of these kids to know exactly what happened.

What is ironic about the whole situation is the 19 yr old that was hurt is the one that went to track down Tyson to report the incident. He was the only person at the time that got any tickets for the fight when he didn't even really get a chance to defend himself because all the kids that ganged up on him where minors.

We drove down main street last night about 10 or a little after. There was about 50 kids at the bank and Tyson was sitting across the street babysitting them. Why not make curfews for the kids and enforce it. Why not pass a law where all the kids can't gather in one place?

I personally feel sorry for the kids in Tarkio that can't go places alone because they have been threatened by the town bullies.

Was the 19 year old tied and forced to go to the bank? If I showed up to an angry mob you can bet I would expect alot of lumps and bruises. Sometimes common sense has to prevail over ego. I agree that the kids need something better to do than what they are doing now. So what can we do as parents to fix it? Maybe instead of bashing the kids and whining about it, we should get together and figure out a solution. If anyone has any ideas I would be glad to help.

No, the 19 yr old wasn't tied and forced to go the bank. He went to tell another kid to stop calling his little brother's phone and leaving threatening message to his brother and his mother. The kid that left the voice message wasn't even the kid involved in the fight from what I hear. Just the town bullies who like to fight. The 19 yr old was standing up for his mother and his brother. I don't know any son that wouldn't stand up to protect his mother from threats or his siblings from threats.

If you have kids wouldn't your kids do the same thing to help protect you?

This isn't the first fight at the bank parking lot and I am sure this won't be the last. I hope the parents of other kids that get hurt or has been hurt by the same kids come forward so something can be done.

It is a shame when kids are afraid to be out by themselves or go to school because of town bullies. Let's all remember what happened in Skidmore for years with a town bully.

I agree it needs to stop NOW! It's time to clean up some trash! If the city won't do it then citizens will! I know a couple of the kids who are stirring up ALOT of crap and they are being watched, not that it is going to help!

They should Close all parking lots to loitering!
They should make a 9 PM curfue for kids 20 and younger.

And about the brass knuckles, I know for FACT he ueses them, he keeps them in his shoe, I really wish he'd try using them on me, ONCE!!

Trust me stopping the kids from gathering would be a mistake. If you do that then they will look for places out of town to gather...which in turn will mean accidents! If they are at the bank parking lot at least they are in one spot and not out driving all over the county. Most all of the kids down there are good kids who are just out to socialize with friends. Its a few that ruin it for the rest of them. Sad thing is it always seems to be the same few. The same few that the law enforcement in this area will continue to deal with over and over again for many years. When parents dont parent society ends up paying for it! As for the kid that is carrying around brass knuckles the cops need to get that dealt with. People know that he has them. This kid is dangerous and has serious issues. Dont believe me check out his Facebook! He is one angry, unstable teenager! Some of the posts on it alone should get him locked up! Where are this boys parents?

I didn't say he was wrong for wanting to talk to the individual that said what they said about his mom and threatened his brother. I would expect mine to want to do the same. The only thing I was trying to say is maybe it wasn't the best place or time. You can't honestly tell me he went there to just talk. We could go back and forth for days but not solve anything. Let's get together as parents with sensible ways to solve this issue. These kids aren't necessarily bad kids they just need better direction...If we as parents don't step up to the plate it's only going to get worse.

Problem with that is Chris the minors that were involved in this fight and causing the trouble have no parenting. The parents dont care what they are up to. As I said before closing the gathering places isnt going to fix anything. Teens gather always have always will. If you take away places in town for them to do it they will find other places to do it and that will cause all new issues. The kids that are causing the issue are the ones that need dealt with. This group of minors were looking to fight, they had tried to get younger kids to fight them at the park no more than an hour before this fight happened. They are very troubled boys and are going to be repeat offenders!

Guess it's time to figure out how to make the parents accountable then. Maybe turning a blind eye to bad parenting has gotten us to where we are now. I know when my daughter has a problem that can't be fixed between her and another kid then we go speak to the other parents. Make them accountable for their kids. As a whole we are all responsible. Us for allowing it to happen and them for making it happen. I would just like to know if anyone has any ideas for a good solution.

Yes, I can honestly say he went there to talk. His father went with him and when he got ganged up on there was nothing the father could really do since they were all minors except get his kid out of the middle of it and go find Tyson.

Are you Serious?! Where did you get your information? It is COMPLETELY wrong!
Jacob Riley (the 19 y.o.) was brought to the bank by HIS FATHER to beat up a 16 year old kid over a fight between that 16 year old and his 15 year old brother. A fight that Jacob had NO BUSINESS sticking his nose in. Their fight was NOT physical, just verbal... until Jacob and his idiot father thought it would be a GRAND idea to go down to the bank and attack the 16 year old.
One thing that NEITHER of them thought of was that the 16 year old would be at the bank with his friends. Only AFTER Jacob attacked the 16 year old from BEHIND and had him down on the grown nearly unconscious did the OTHERS jump in to STOP Jacob from his attack. Jacob deserved the ass kicking he got.. and his father should get one too, for being STUPID enough to TAKE his child to the bank to initiate a fight in the first place!
And if Jacob keeps running his mouth about revenge attacks, he is going to incite the kids to get him again... be it at the bank or wherever.
The problem is not the kids gathering in one spot, the problem is that the parents are not holding their children accountable for their actions and SOME parents are actually instigating the fights.

You are all talking about poor Jacob. What about the 16 that jacob slammed his head into another teens car. leaving a dent about eight inches wide. Jacob was jumped because he was hurting their friend. You talk about defending people is okay. So the boys that attacked jacob were in the right also. NO!!!! No way was right in this situation. Jacob and his father shouldn`t have come on main looking for a fight. If anything the parents of Chris riley andSid Harms should have got together a solved it. Not sending your 19 year old son after the boy. THe boys that jumped him were playing football when it all started. There was no time to get brass knuckles out. And Brandon Yost isn`t bragging about using them so that should just be dropped because it is crap.

I wasnt going to mention names but since someone already has I guess it no longer matters. The Harms and the Yost kid are hellions. They are two of the worst kids in Tarkio. The Harms kid has been in trouble with the law for many many years. As I stated before the Yost kid has posts on his Facebook that are nothing but threats to others, principals, and the school in general. Not someone I want in my childs school! These boys are involved in fights and threaten other kids all the time. They were looking for a fight that night. They had tried to get a group of younger kids to fight earlier that same evening at the park. And the Yost kid does carry brass knuckles he threatens kids with them all the time. He even threatened another boy with them the next evening downtown in front of several adults. Ask anyone at the school who has dealt with all these kids involved on a daily basis and they will tell you the Harms and Yost kids are as rotten as they come!

You need to get a better source. Thats not how it happened. Seems to me the Harms and Yost kid both need as a trip behind he wood shed! If their parents would parent then there wouldnt have been an issue hear at all.

I believe the kid that ran his mouth and left the threatening voice mail was looking for a fight. The poor kid you are talking about didn't hit his head on the car.. it was his butt that hit the car. That kid was taking to the hospital and examined by what I hear fron his family memebers he wasn't hurt at all. But nice try to make it seem like he was seriously hurt.

This kid called and let a voice mail even threatening an adult. Apparently you are a family member if the kid with the big mouth that doesn't have respect for anyone.

I think it is kind of funny that no one mentioned who had the brass knuckles with all the kids that were there but a person commenting on the topc knew who it was. Of all the kids down at the parking lot involved this one person knew who to name with the brass knuckles. That is nice to know exactly who is accused of having the brass knuckles now everyone knows who to watch.
