Sanctuary Owner To Stand Trial On Cruelty Charges
PITTSBURGH (AP) ―
An Allegheny County woman has been ordered to stand trial on animal cruelty charges after authorities said they found hundreds of dead, sick and dying cats on her property.
Tiger Ranch owner 45-year-old Linda Bruno, of Frazer Township, is accused of failing to provide adequate care.
She has pleaded not guilty to nearly 600 summary and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.
Investigators say they found the cats in deplorable conditions during a March raid at Tiger Ranch near Tarentum.
Gibsonia District Judge Suzanne Blaschak ordered Bruno to stand trial Tuesday at a preliminary hearing.
A humane society agent testified that Bruno's records indicate she took in nearly 6,500 cats in 2007 - almost 5,000 more than she estimated.

Bruno, who also goes by the name "Lin Marie," faces seven misdemeanor accounts of forgery and seven felony counts of tampering with public records or information such as rabies vaccination certificates for cats.
Bruno has been accused of signing a veterinarian's signature on documents and operating an unlicensed veterinary practice.
On Wednesday, Holly Wood testified that Bruno shot three of her cats with a rabies vaccine while they sat on her lap and handed her a slip with a veterinarian's signature.
Retired veterinarian James R. Davidson said he helped Bruno with a clinic in the past, but never at Tiger Ranch.
"It's a tragedy because I hate giving charity and having it go sour. I don't make any money. I am a retired veterinarian. I do charity work," said Davidson.
After holding the charges over for trial, a judge ordered Bruno not to have any contact with animals on her property or care for any animals away from her home.

Lin Marie pleaded guilty to 12 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty on July 13, 2009. She also pleaded guilty to 2 misdemeanor counts of tampering with government documents. She could face up to 28 years in prison. I hope she gets all 28 years so she can never harm another animal again.

Write to the DA and Judge, and plead that justice be served, this woman deserves to go to jail.
Not only did she neglect hundreds of animals over the years, the harm she did to humans was just as disturbing. The lies this woman told, to the people who supported her, remember " kaboom" and all of the granduers statements, about how she/Tiger Ranch, would rise " like a Phoenix "
The lies told all over the net about this case, from it was done for Animal Planet, to the lies about Tiger Ranch itself. The harrasment people suffered who dared to stand up for the horror that was Tiger Ranch. The horrible things said about the four women who took matters into their own hands, after the local agents turned a blind eye again and again to complaints.
Lin Marie was told the PSPCA was coming, that is why the raid took place when it did, WHO told her?
And why aren't these local agents, who gave Tiger Ranch the OK again, and again, being brought to task?
What about the 6000 cats Tiger Ranch records proved were taken in? and only 14 placed?
There was so much more to this case than we will ever know....
No more Tiger Ranches, Ever.
