Political Analyst: N.C. Could Be Key, Regardless Of Electoral Outcome In State

Sep 3, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: National Public Radio

This week, as President Obama heads back to North Carolina to accept his party's nomination, polls show that he may be hard-pressed to repeat his Tar Heel State success of four years ago.

Even if Obama should lose North Carolina, he still wins in an electoral landslide.

Obama leads Romney in every other swing state. There simply isn't a realistic way for Romney to get to 270 electoral votes.

Electoral College Prediction Model Points To A Mitt Romney Win In 2012

The Huffington Post
By Matt Ferner Posted: 08/22/2012

Two University of Colorado professors, one from Boulder and one from Denver, have put together an Electoral College forecast model to predict who will win the 2012 presidential election and the result is bad news for Barack Obama. The model points to a Mitt Romney victory in 2012.

Ken Bickers from CU-Boulder and Michael Berry from CU-Denver, the two political science professors who devised the prediction model, say that it has correctly forecast every winner of the electoral race since 1980.

"Based on our forecasting model, it becomes clear that the president is in electoral trouble," Bickers said in a press statement.

To predict the race's outcome, the model uses economic indicators from all 50 states and it shows 320 electoral votes for Romney and 218 for Obama, according to The Associated Press. The model also suggests that Romney will win every state currently considered a swing state which includes Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New Hampshire and Colorado.

According to current data from The Huffington Post Election Dashboard, there are at least 13 states that are either dead heats or within a handful of percentage points in either direction.

Keep thinking there is only one way to win electoral votes.

Keep thinking there is no reason to go to the polls because Obama is going to win.

Keep on!

U.S. celebrates 'Empty Chair Day'

The right rallied on Labor Day to celebrate “National Empty Chair Day,” a show of solidarity with Clint Eastwood after his rambling address to an invisible President Barack Obama at the Republican National Convention last week.

The action picked up steam on Twitter, where the hashtag #emptychairday began trending on Monday morning as users tweeted pictures of empty chairs in various poses.

The blog, which had asked readers to send in photos of empty chairs, updated its post midday to say that the response had been so overwhelming — and the backlog of photos so great — that they were forced to close submissions.

Uh Oh, someone didn't see the latest polls, Romney is this/close to sweeping the states Obama needs to win. LOL - keep looking at the outdated electoral map and keep drinkin' the koolade, it will help you sleep at night, but Romney is going to win and I don't think the vote will even be close.

I never thought NC would go for Obama.

I had no idea the majority there were atheists in favor of partial birth abortion and special rewards Illegal Aliens
I thought NC was the type of State where kids best interests came first before Teachers Unions. I would have never thought NC was the kind of State where burying their kids in DEBT was thought to be a good thing.

I knew times were changing but to see NC deteriorate into nothing more than obama supporters is Freaky. I thought NC parents cared about their children's futures to much to vote for more Obama!!!

Blah, blah, blah......

Even Karl Rove's electoral map has Obama winning.

Romney would indeed have to sweep ALL the supposed "swing states" in order to win.

Not going to happen.

You might be right. Americans may have deteriorated into such pitiful losers, worthless parents, and ungrateful street trash that Obama is all they think their families deserve. We will see in November.

Valerie Jarrett Has a Secret Service Detail?

by Keith Koffler on January 17, 2012, 9:00 am

Senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett apparently has Secret Service protection.

This is highly unusual, and of course, costly. I’ve never really heard of someone who is merely a senior White House aide getting assigned Secret Service agents.

My understanding is that at the senior levels of the Bush White House, at least during the latter days, only the president and his family, the vice president, the chief of staff, the national security adviser, and the homeland security adviser were assigned Secret Service agents.

It’s possible that Jarrett has received enough specific and credible threats to justify Secret Service protection, or that the Secret Service has for some other reason calculated that she needs bodyguards. But it’s also possible this is a case of oddly overdoing it – and overusing taxpayer resources.

Is she really such a public figure? I’m sure 90 percent of Americans have little to no idea who she is. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney is far better known and spends his time warning terrorists and our foreign adversaries about bad behavior while trumpeting the killing of Osama Bin Laden. I’m sure he does not have protection.

According to a local report, Jarrett was accompanied by at least two Secret Service agents during her pre-Martin Luther King Day appearance in Atlanta Sunday, where she bashed Republicans in church.

16 Trillion in debt?? No Sh*T??????????

These are the people LOOKING OUT FOR THE TAXPAYER?
