I just read the plans to drop the Party Patrol Task Force.
At first glance, I have several questions. Has this task force proved to be deterrent for our young people? Has it been shown to reduce the number of underage drinkers and drunk drivers? Is there any less expensive way to accomplish the same goal? Maybe neighborhood watch systems or something? What about volunteer patrols? If the answers to the first questions is yes, then there must be a way to fund this. If no, then we will see the number of drinking incidents increase with danger to those underage and innocent bystanders. This will not save money. |
