Sounds like the police acted appropriately in this instance; but I wonder if anyones' checked to see if this woman is possibly suffering from dementia/Alzheimers, or maybe she mixed her medications and was having a reaction? Of course it's entirely possible she's just a cranky old lady, too.

This woman is someone that I know dearly who does not have any mental diseases and has bad back problems with arms that are the size of three fingers put together. She is a sweet old lady.

Well that clears it up she made a concious decision to assault a police officer. Thank you now we have that clear. I can also rest assure that the officer was not hurt. Great a 2 for 1

Hey I lived in Columbia South Carolina. Those guys are very quick to arrest someone because the think they did not get the respect they deserved. I know there are not enough cops in South Cacalack. Well the police in Charleston when I lived there did not have a problem with harrassing regualar folk. Intersting more people know of Charleston than the three rivers city ( the capital). It must be the popularity of it representative ( the guys from Borat and everyones favorite racist with a black child STROM). Pleas support Columbia SC officers, get them some pastries quickly!!!

She caused an accident for heaven's sake. Was everyone supposed to walk away from it? She should have signed the citations and gone home. Don't blame the cops for HER actions.

Why should any one be able to behave in this manner? The officer was doing his job, what about the people in the car that she hit, there was a young child in that vechile, should he have let her go so that we can teach children that is is alright to hit police officers and behave how ever you want! And for the idot that said his Grandmother spanked him too much you should not open your big mouth if you do not know what you are talking about that NEVER happened. He also proved that he handled her with care when he did not cuff her tightly or she would not have been able to remove them and throw them out of the window!

Since you are so wise on this subject, at what age do we get to start doing what ever we want, cause as accidents, hit police officers or anyone for that matter and just flat out break the law.

For those who want to post about a situation they weren't there to experience..Your words mean NOTHING. You are nothing more than a BITCH who hides behind a computer screen throwing punches you aren't man/woman enough to do in person. Until you experience any situation in that persons shoes (regardless of cop or not), you dont have the first dang right (except that 1st amendment thing) to say SH*T about it. It's easy to Monday morning QB something, but unless you are man/woman enough to actually be in that sitation...SHUT THE F UP!!

You do realize that police work does not even make the list of the top ten most dangerous jobs dont you. Save your hero worship bs for your wife and kids or quit your job if you cannot handle it.

Let me guess you have the #1 most dangerous job, but will be the first to cry like a litte baby when the police don't show up fast enough for you to hide behind.

Let's see, who should I arrest? Crack dealer? No that would be dangerous. I got it; I'll pick on an 80 year old lady who is upset because she was just in an automobile accident. Little did he know that Granny would kick his overweight, donut-eating butt. This clown has got to be the laughing stock of the Tavares Police Department.

Since John wants to go get Crack dealers...When one decides to put a bullet in his sorry a$$, I hope he doesn't call 911.. and expect the B*tch police to come and save him..With any luck...The local 5-0 will be at the local donut shop so that John may die a long and painful death, because his local cops are NOWHERE to be found.....

More and more we are seeing Barney Fife's in action all over Florida and the country. Cops are cowardly, corrupt, and out of control. In other words they are behaving just like our "leaders" in Tallahassee and Washington.

For all of you who have nasty things to say about our police officers, I say walk a mile in their shoes. If they don't get to YOUR emergency fast enough, your whine. But you sit back and "snipe" at them from your computer. Get to know your local cops. Help them when they need it. They are all that stands between honest citizens and the criminals.

You really like to repeat yourself with the top 10 dangerous jobs list. You had the exact same post when this news story first broke. Police work may not be in the top 10 list of dangerous jobs, but neither is being a soldier. Of the thousands of jobs in the U.S. and around the world, you must be smart enough to realize police work is still an extremely dangerous job. It's only March 10th, and there have already been 28 police officers killed in the line of duty this year around the U.S. I've attached a link if you want to read about some of these line of duty deaths. In the mean time, go back to the safety of your computer where you can exercise the Constitutional rights upheld by soldiers and police officers.

I repeat because people like you try make police work appear more dangerous than it is.

And please do not compare yourself to our brave men and woman in Iraq. Standing by the road in Windermere with a radar gun does not compare with being in Iraq. You should be ashamed

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
