And you think this proposal will help you understand others better in what way? What does a proposal have to do with a heavily accented attempt at English?

Why must the city make special arrangements for those that do not speak english during public meetings and hearings.
I am so sick and tired of the "U S" taking special care of people from other countries.
We need to start worying about our own citizens.
As a Taneytown resident I agree with the city council. I don't want my tax dollars going to an interpreter for 36 residents that refuse to speak english. They can send that money to my sons school and hire another teacher.

In California many of the job descriptions are for bilingual Spanish/English positions. I give your city alot of credit for doing something about it. Check out the video on illegal immigration www.house.gov/bilbray

Greg from Taney says... "I am so sick and tired...special care of people from other countries....need to worry about our own citizens..." Are you making the assumption that everyone who doesn't speak english is an illegal? Surely you jest! I have traveled extensively and every single country that I have ever been to has made accomodations for those that do not speak the native language. Why do so many Americans feel the need to divide and conquer? I guess I just don't get it...I certainly understand the need to stop illegal immigration, but I fail to see what this whole language debate has to do with it...Why not put your efforts into cracking down on illegal immigration instead of something as silly as this? Every single person who I have encountered that agrees with this type of decision comes off as racist in tone.
