Best thing the borough council has done in a long time.

Honestly, regardless of why she was dismissed, the pervasive talk around town, and we're talking about alot of the people who will actually vote, is to replace everyone on the council, simply because they are an incumbent. Start over, clean slate.

How do you figure. Lisa was the only person to do anything in the office. She cared about what happened to the town unlike the landlord run council.

Sure looks like the council does not have any guts and might have been better off taking the suggestions of someone who has worked in the public sector and knows the ins and outs. These people running for office today do not have a clue. I can only pray that they do not destroy the way of life for the rest of us. All they have done is chase those of us away that know how to do things that are good for everyone, not just for the few or the powerful that get what they want

AMEN. I will be out there making sure everyone in town knows what this council is all about. Wheeler your days are numbered. We are going to run you out of town just like you run every law abiding person out of town. Look at Queen and Lumber street. Can you see what it looks like. It looks like down town Baltimore. DO YOUR JOB.

It about time. Its a shame that the Council President was still backing Mrs. Hess even after being advised by the State Labor and Industry that she was issuing building permits illegally. This was even after she was warned by them. The council knew that she had a bad history when they hired her, but went ahead and did it anyway. It still is going to come back and bite them in the ass for what she has done while she was here.!!!!!!!

But it is ok for the council members to own slums and rent them out. THat is why they did not like Hess because she wanted to make the town a little better. AS far as illegal permits the bozos that run this town would not know illegal if it hit them in the head. And trust me when I say this is going to be exposed. Just keep watching.

Problem is most elected officials (especially on the local level) have no clue as to how local government really should function, nor do most have any clue as to what the job duties and responsibilities are of the municipality's staff. Unfortunately, they often vote based on emotion rather than principle and the law out of fear of losing the next election, or angering a neighbor or friend...what a pity. The right decisions are often the most difficult, and it is then that you separate the men from the boys (or women from the girls). If Ms. Hess was issuing building permits illegally and the Dept. of Labor & Industry only "advised" her of the wrong doing - shame on them. Why didn't they enforce the regulations she was violating - they have that authority. Good luck to all...I'm afraid you're going to need more than luck.

Hess got exactly what she deserved, too bad it couldn't have been more. She's probably robbed the town blind by now.

Not many months ago 3/4 of the town wanted Linda Hess fired because she had the nerve to tell the crossing guard that he couldn't wear his hats. Has she changed since then?

PS: The council was largely replaced last year. Show up as a citizen at the meeting and speak. Best way to get what you want done. Average of 3 people show up, concerned citizen.....

Who do you think took that project out of the budget? Need to be involved and understand who chooses what. there's no one on the Council who doesn't think that needs to be done. Can you pay for it? People are screaming " No taxes" including me. How does it get paid for in a time when we can't get grants or money. If you can find a way, suggest it. Don't just stand outside and complain. I know I'm listening...

Hmmmm, last time I checked hearsay and slander were not supposed to be part of the newspaper articles. So the reporter is doing a good job.
