Maybe florida needs to reinstate the helmet laws for motorcycle riders. That may have saved his life if he was wearing one.

Your kidding right? So if she was operating a motor vehicle drunk at the same time and was killed then SHE had it coming? Or if you were attacked walking across a dark parking lot YOU had it coming? Or the kids were crossing the street outside of the crosswalk so THEY had it coming? You can't really think this way?

The first thing that I want to say is that "if you don't know the facts then please don't assume". I am Jennie's and Jim's minister from their church. Jim was a hard working honest christian man with a wife and 4 children that he took on as his own family 3 years ago when this family lost their husband/father of 15 years to an illness. While the average person slept at night, he worked overtime late hours delivering milk all over the city to provide for his family. This is a hard time for everyone involved as prayers have gone forth not only for this family but for all parties involved. His wife has prayed for Ms. Morello and had to stand for herself & family during this very difficult time. As to the helmet, believe me, he was spoken to on this subject a few times as it is not required by law in the state of Florida. I do not even like motorcycles and would not ever advise anyone to ride without a helmet, but the truth in this particular death is that the helmet would not have made any difference at all. We have the full report as well as the autopsy. He died on impact, the speed that Ms. Morello was going and the impact of his body to the windshield is what killed him. The medical examiner, officer and reports state that he died on impact and never did stand a chance. I hope this will clear up any and all confusion as to why Jim was out at 1a.m. in the morning and what kind of person he was. And as I previously said "Our thoughts & prayers are with all parties".

Michelle from N.Y.. We need to put you two together and throw away the key. Your friend Antoinette is 43 years old (an adult) and a mother. She was in excess of 70 mph (alot of good a helmet is going to do) his spine was severed on impact, every organ and many bones were crushed on impact of her car(not from being thrown several feet). She was drinking and we will soon find out if anything else was in her blood. Oh, by the way, Jim was on his way to work that morning. If she was looking for A REASON to change her life why didn't she just take her own. You may be a good person, but you really need to make better associations and facts before casting judgements on a good man or maybe you have no interest in anything or anybody other than your friend(antoinette). Her actions has left a loving wife, mother and four children without a husband and father. How was she in N.Y.? THE TRUTH......

Michelle, blamimg the rider for not wearing a helmet is kind of like blaming the gas station clerk who was just shot and killed for not knowing the owner's safe combination. A helmet has absolutly nothing to do with this. A helmet would not have prevented the accident. Her not drinking and runnig a red would have. Fact was, she was driving drunk which is illegal no matter how you look at it. It does not matter what kind of woman she was. It does not matter what she was going through. There is no excuse for drinking and driving.

Michelle you are an idiot. If Ms. Morello had hit a car with children in it and one of the children had died would you blame the parents for having that child?? The woman was drunk and driving. That's wrong no matter what. Maybe you're a drunk driver too and that's why you're defending her???

Anybody riding a motorcycle should know you should be wearing a helmet one reason is because of the fact there's only two wheels its not as stable as a car with 4, point is falling is common!! the fact he got hit by a car drunk or not is not anybody's fault particularly an ACCIDENT is what it was.... who wears all black on a motor cycle at 1:30 at night??? somebody asking for it is right Michelle!!! also if anybody knew the story they would know that ms Morello had insurance on her vehicle unlike your motorcyclist!! so think about that.... who's got more faults being drunk on the road which i'm sure some of u have done as well.....or no insurance on a bike with no helmet at 1:30 at night!!! think about it...bad things happen to good people n i'm talking about ms morello who is a wonderful women!!!:)
