If they would have continued to work instead of stealing, Mr Rivera may have continued to find work for them. Other people in the neighborhood may have noticed and given them work.Giving them "cash/tax free" paycheck for who knows how long. Maybe for years? Yet they steal what they would hve pawned for a few hundred dollars, that would have lasted maybe a few days. I guess years of drinking and drugs will do this to your brain

The photo says it all.
That is why "some people" cannot get ahead in life and exist like productive citizens.

Please tell me they haven't reproduced! Mr. Rivera, you did a good thing by helping out, lesson for me don't help so close to home. However, do help there are many who would not have taken advantage of your generosity.

I wouldn't have hired them to pick up paper in my yard let alone landscape it. They look like VETERAN CRACK ADDICTS.. Times are hard but you don't see who have lost their jobs after years of service out there committing crimes to get by. It's the UNEMPLOYED people that are out there stealing everything that's not tied down.

Please correct me if I am wrong but this seems contradictory ... aren't the people who lost their jobs among the unemployed ...

It is sad when someone tries to help a person in need and they go and try to steal everything from them that they worked for. I am glad the young man was home and stopped them and also glad he didn't get hurt cause you know crack heads will fight you when they are trying to get money to fix their habits.
Now someone really come along and need help the first thing Mr. Rivera would say is no, because the trust is gone, but I hope one day he will find it in his heart to give another person a chance.
Put them in a cell and throw away the key. I hope our seniors and eldly people are taking a good look at them and not let them in their homes.

CRACK HEADS GET CLEAN AND GET A REAL JOB AND LEAVE OTHER PEOPLE STUFF ALONE.

What's so hard to understand? My point is that most of the criminals aren't the one's that have lost their jobs. They were already UMEMPLOYED. These people look like they wouldn't work tasting pies on a pie truck for a living.

Good job Derrick, maybe Mr. Rivera can offer the job to Derrick for some side money, or Derrick most likely knows a good kid who could do his lawn. I hope Mr. Rivera offered Derrick something for his bravery, like we all know just by the looks of them, they are drug addicts and he took a chance not knowing the outcome of what could happen to him!

No good deed goes unpunished. Sad, but that's the way it seems like things are today.

I didn't say it was hard to understand ... people who lost their jobs are unemployed ... whether they lost their job last week or last year ... they are still unemployed

Whatever, the trust worthy one was in the wrong. They must not know the "Beautiful US of A" yet...or should I say "Florida"...the "Melting Pot for all Criminals...they all seem to get over (or out of their messes)." I truly believe the state of Florida's laws are so wishy washy and have no meaning. All the people (obviously the minority) that actually abide by the laws lose every time. Where's the justice? Florida does not have any. Remember, Florida is the "No Fault State.." Most criminals get off and the rest of us "Law Abiding and Tax Payers"...do just that...."Pay for the INJUSTICE!!!! CRIST...Where The Heck are you?????
