asked for payment and credit card info up front before any written agreement. could not confirm a tour operator. said they were "brand new" and giving away an "amazing deal" because they operate through word of mouth.
just got a call from them, they pretty much told me about a trip and gave me URL to their poorly done shady website. Was eventually transferred to a customer service manager - went to the site and told him I was uneasy about just giving away my credit card info without having anything in writing. Also told them I googled their company and there were several bad complaints on them. At that point the "customer service manager" hung up on me.
I just got hired there and start on Monday. My friend started yesterday and says its pretty much, you read from a script and try to make the sale. A lot of people there are inexperienced. Like my friend and I, we are just college students with no sales or telemarketing experience, given a script and told to read it, any problems, call the manager over. Its all done over the phone, so there is no paperwork to do a written agreement. Its all verbal, then once the sale is made, we connect you with a manager to take care of the other details.
my husband Howie had the same sales pitch being asked by a sales manager at travel options for a credit card number for several to good to be true offers for travel. I was not at home and he informed them that he would tell me about their offer and he would get back to them and asked for their phone #.Travel Options refused to give him their phone number. He was then informed that he had to make the decision at that time the offer expires if he ends the call. He felt confident that this was a scam. He would NEVER give a credit card number to a stranger. ]
JUST BECAUSE YOU HAD A BAD BURGER DOESNT MEAN YOU WILL TURN INTO A VEGETARIAN. THIS IS NOT A SCAM I PURCHASED A LAS VEGAS ORLANDO FL PACKAGE. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SIT THROUGH A 90 MINUTE SEMINAR ABOUT TIMESHARE OWNERSHIP. PLUS MY CREDIT CARD OFFERS ME FRAUD PROTECTION. THATS WHY ITS A CREDIT NOT DEBIT CARD.
Just hung up the phone. A sure sign of trouble is you can't call them. I was told I had a $500 travel credit that was about to expire with no explanation as to where that came from. If I have a $500 travel then why were we talking about booking these trips using a credit card? Nope - pretty shady all around. Or at the very least bush league - even though the first guy I spoke to said they were one of the largest travel agents in Florida and fully accredited and licensed. Don't blame the person who calls you though. They might be very unaware that they may be selling an empty promise.
I JUST RECIEVED A CALL FROM A LADY NAME LASHUNDA COBB, SHE CLAIMED I WAS ABLE TO GET A VACATION TO ORLANDO, LAS VEGAS, COCO BEACH & A CRUISE & ALL WERE 4 DAY/3 NIGHT STAY @$99 EACH. WHEN I TOLD HER I NEEDED TO SPEAK W/MY HUSBAND BEFORE MAKING A DECISION, SHE TRANSFERRED ME TO ANOTHER PERSON TO TRY GETTING ME TO BUY THE PACKAGES. I INFORMED HIM THE SAME THING & HE TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO MAKE A DECISION TODAY OR COULD PUT HIM ON HOLD WHILE I CALLED MY HUSBAND B/C ONCE I HUNG UP, THE SYSTEM ERASES ALL OFFERS FOR ME & I ONLY APPROVED B/C I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST 500 PEOPLE TO DO SOME SURVEY OVER THE PHONE BACK IN NOVEMBER (WHICH I DIDN'T) & HE DIDN'T WANT ME TO LOSE OUT. I TOLD HIM I DO NOT MAKE CHOICES W/OUT SPEAKING WITH MY HUSBACN & I COULDN'T CALL HIM B/C HE WORKS IN A CALL CENTER & I REFUSE TO INTERFERE HIS WORKING, & IF THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT WAS SO WONDERFUL AND SOMETHING I WAS AWARDED...WHY COULDN'T THEY WAIT. THE GUY HUNG UP ON ME. SUCH A SCAM!!!
Just got a call from these guys saying back in August of 2010 I did something with a time share in Vegas(couldn't give me specifics)I wasn't even in Vegas then. Offered me the trip to Orlando, COCO beach, Vegas, California cruise all for just $297 and I would need to give them 60-90 minutes of my time while there. I expressed that this seemed to good to be true and I was told to hold on. Then the manager came on and took $100 off. I told him I need to talk to my wife. He said he could only hold and wait for me to do it now. I called and he waited. Then my wife said "ya right this sounds way too good" I told him my wife's opinion and he said he would take another $50 off. At this point I became quite sure these guys just wanted me credit card info. The things that really tipped me off when the guy got frustrated because my 10 month old was too loud and ruining his sales pitch. He said "I can't concentrate with all that noise" I should have hung up right then and there. He finally hung up on me when I told him that we would do it if we could meet with someone face to face and feel more legit about this... That was the end of the call for him. Total Scam!
I was solicited over the phone for a vac. package (Orlando, fort lauderdale, daytona beach )for a fee of $237.00..Reading all these complaints does not make me feel like contacting them to use the vac. package they promised fearing i might get scammed for more money by these people. I realized later -on i shld. have not gave-in/let myself talked into but bec. I was planning to visit somebody in orlando i might get a good deal ..if i wanted to get my money back, is there a chance ?i signed in sept. 2011.If not, how can i help stop these people fr. scamming more victims...
I just received the exact same phone call promoting a deal for accommodations in Orlando, Las Vegas, and Coco Beach for $297 (airfare not included) for up to 4 people, and that I had a credit of $500 that they did not want me to lose out on. I told them that I was suspicious because I never used their services before, and therefore, do not know how I could have a $500 credit. I said that I would have to speak to my husband first before making any rushed decisions.
The sales person transferred me to his manager, who tried to breeze over claims like they have a web site and that they are accredited by the Better Business Bureau, without really backing any of this up. He then tried to conclude the sale by telling me that I would lose out on the special once I hung up the phone and that he could wait on the phone if I had to "ask permission" of my husband (trying to play, almost sarcastically, on a woman's right to make decisions independently).
I simply told him that I was not going to call my husband right then and there while he waited, and unless there was a number at which I could call the company back, then I was not interested. He quickly said ok, fine, bye and hung up, like he was rejected. This felt completely like a SCAM, which I'm pretty sure it was. If they were legitimate, they would be more forthcoming with information and less rushed. Don't take the chance...say NO!
Yes, I agree with all of the reviews I read. And sadly, I must say that I fell for this scam. I was scheduled for an upcoming trip Mar 2012 and have been unsuccessful in trying to reach them. I wanted to confirm my trip to Orlando and could not reach them by phone or fax. Initially, when I signed up for this I had all the same questions others did and was very skeptical about giving my information. When I booked the trip, I did not include my credit card info so a representative called me a couple of days later. After speaking to her for awhile, I finally gave my info and told them not to charge anything to my card before speaking with me. I have been unsuccessful in getting anyone since that time. I am going to follow-up through with reporting them to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. You should do the same if you fell for this like I did. Shame, shame, on me!!
Just got a phone call from these guys, with a lady who sounded very enthusiastic about the great deal. When I asked if I could research this matter further, she transferred me to a customer relationship manager who wanted to make the deal sweeter, but wouldn't give me the time to research the company or ask around. As soon as I said that I will not purchase until I had a chance to review the company and the offer, the manager told me: "You're too analytic for me." and hung up. Very shady company.
Couldn't agree more with these posts. For a week, I received 20 missed calls from a 954 number. They never left a message. Finally, I picked up the call and Travel Options immediately goes into the sales pitch described in earlier posts regarding a $500 credit, trips to Orlando, Coco Beach, Vegas and a cruise. About 10 minutes in, I ask them if they could send me an email so that I could review the offer in greater detail. The manager gets on the line and tries to push the offer harder. When I said I was uncomfortable sharing my credit card info over the phone, he became more persistent. Finally, I politely said that I appreciated the offer and the call, but that I was not interested if I had to disclose my cc info. The mgr starts talking over me, raising his voice and said I was very difficult to talk to. Overhearing the conversation, my husband got fed up and hung up the phone on him. Do not fall for this scam! This is wire fraud through and through.
I received the call just this morning and was quite impressed with the gentleman who called, but I declined his invitation to take advantage of the $500.00 credit and the low-priced Cruise and Resort stays.
I was favorably impressed, though, because I told him of my current health issues, and instead of insisting further that I proceed with purchasing, he offered to say a prayer for me for regaining good health! And he did just that--he actually said a lovely prayer for me for my future good health--right over the phone!! Then he wished me a good day and hung up, not pressuring me a bit.(The whole thing is likely a scam, though--just like everyone is saying.)
I have been receiving 954 cell phone calls from this number. I finally picked up and spoke to a man who offered me a "huge" credit of $500! When I questioned his company, he told me they had a contract with RCI to offer me a trip with the 500 credit. He didn't answer when I asked him why I needed him when I had timeshare. He had way too much of my information that he was perfectly happy to share with me to back up his claim that he was legitimate. I finally hung up on him. Someone should stop these people. I am going to write to RCI and let them know that these people are claiming to have a contract with the,
I just got the same call, with details of a 500.00 credit and telling me I earned it while in Vegas a yr ago. Same trip being offered, Vegas, a cruise, Orlando, and CoCo Beach. It sounded too good to be true from the beginning, and when I advised that I needed to speak to my husband, the rep put someone else on the line. They both asked me if they could hold while I called my husband. The second person I talked to kept trying to convince me that there is some kind of government regulation that prevents them from calling me back or offering the credit at a later time as he could be fined 3000.00 and it wasnt worth it to him. It became very clear that something wasnt right. Any company that wants your business will not try to threaten you or bully you to make a decision at that very moment. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I am confident this is a VERY shady company.
Just got a call from these guys. Sounded too good to be true. Gave me the, you have to buy now otherwise its over sales pitch (which is BS). I looked at their site, which was mickey mouse and then they pointed to the BBB saying they were BBB accredited. and type "Travel Options BBB" Well I went to the BBB site not by their directions, but through BBB site and found they were not Accredited.(they pointed me to a page which looked like they were accredited) This Business is not BBB accredited Travel Options, Inc. http://www.bbb.org/houston/business-reviews/t... Their previous Travel options and associates is no longer in business. So its up to you to take a chance. Companies can be created and destroyed....
