Argall's puppet Knowles is supporting legislation attacking workers. Check out any right to work state and you will see wages and benefits way lower than others such as PA. Knowles supported unions when he was in one but now is doing the bidding of the robber barons and scabs against workers and attempting again to game the electoral system. Makes sense though, just look at who is lining Knowles pockets come campaign time. Poor Knowles couldn't even attend a funeral without submitting an expense report in order to get compensated by the taxpayers.

Sorry, slacker, the days of unions are over. Union greed has destroyed too much of the American economy. What was once needed and effective has become neither.

You don't agree with the above persons post so you jump to calling him a slacker? Well one thing is for sure, this union worker is not working for the slave rates at which you may be ok with, people whom are not union workers are sure to side with you, but if they were making the hourly rate of a union worker there views would be much different! Private sector unions have done nothing to hurt America, corp. greed is more of the problem, lets ship more jobs to china so we can pay cheap labor!

Ive worked along side drunks and doped up ironworkers that should have been run off now there is no work and i,m collecting unemployment and the BA is still collecting a fat paycheck from my dues. THIS UNION JOB SUCKS and I'm not afraid to say it

I worked in several right to work state and was always making more then I do back here working a union job. In work to right states its easy to get paid more if you have good skills, here you're treated and paid the same as the slackers. Unions do nothing but rob from your check and protect the lazy.

... and raise prices on everything they touch so they can collect what they really don't earn.

I saw first hand how unions decrease productivity by implementing rules designed to prevent actual thought and work.

You can see the same when you look at employers whom are loaded with dead weight overhead office/engineering staff!

The legacy of Unions lies in the PRIVATE sector (againt greedy businesses), NOT IN GOVERNMENT!! If Jerry plans on figting hard against public unions, he won't have to fight for my vote.

For the newbies to the union debate on Tamaqua Topix, not all unions are not alike. My grandmother belonged to a PRIVATE SECTOR (business) union. Today the mainstay of the unions is in government, also known as the PUBLIC UNION. These are 2 different animals, the latter posing as the former.

"Private" sector unions tap into company profits but "PUBLIC" unions suck out tax dollars. At W-mart, you cannot get a union in because there is major interest in keeping them out! So what have unions done? Since unions are so political, they followed the path of least resistance (government) and discovered that they could barge in with little or no resistence (sometimes with winks and nods). After they get in, the political pressures they exert on public servants can, in my opinion, frequently create unholy situations whereby labor contract are quietly signed off on and we taxpayers are NOT BEING SERVED BY THE VERY PEOPLE WE ELECT TO PROTECT OUR INTERESTS.

It's about time someone decides to make waves by FIGHTING to completely eliminate the "public" union conflict of interest so that we can begin to lower the cost and head count of local governments.

Angry but sensible,

Our jobs went overseas because of the ridiculous demands of the unions. The unions have long outlived their purpose. You can only charge so much for a product and once the unions demand way more than that product can support - bye bye jobs and thank you unions for sending them overseas. The garment industry was the first to die. I worked in the garment industry for over 21 years. When you get $1.25 for a child's garment you can't pay the workers $15 an hour to make them. The unions are totally out of touch with reality for the last 10 years. Corporate greed? Really? Because a company needs to make money to survive in a global market, share holders demanding a return on there investment, crippling regulations and taxes, they need to move jobs overseas. Greed? Nope. Just a business trying to survive.

How much is too much for top company officials to make??? That would have nothing to do with jobs going to a cheaper workforce??? I think so! Let them send all products from china to the USA because that will be all you can afford on your 12.00 hr. job! Wake up people the rich business owners keep getting rich while the working class moves to poverty!

What about the police union Jerry worked for is he giving that pension back???

You killed American jobs by not buying American made goods. Of course with out a union collectively bargaining for decent wages you probably had to buy the cheapest thing on the shelf.

Uh, no. I have what you don't have: an "eddie-cation" (your vs you're) and skills that are marketable. The free market takes care of me and gives me a nice compensation. You ... not so much.
