Five people were jailed late Saturday after police busted what they said was an operational methamphetamine lab at a home in Rush Township.

Township police said Jeremy A. Snyder, 29, of 62 Heckman Road, Quakake; Jennifer Dipietro, 27, of 230 Green St., Apt. 2, Tamaqua; William Manness Jr., 29, of 326 W. Rowe St., Tamaqua; Joseph Holland, 29, of 51 Hollow Ave., Mary D, and Russell Gernert IV, 30, of 38 Schuylkill Road, New Ringgold, were all charged with felony manufacture of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, possession of liquefied ammonia gas, criminal conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy to possess red phosphorous.

In addition, Snyder was charged with manufacture of a controlled substance-marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and Gernert with a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

All five were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, Snyder in lieu of 10 percent of $40,000 bail and the remaining four in lieu of 10 percent of $25,000 bail each.

Rush Township police Cpl. Duane Frederick said the arrests stem from a raid at Snyder's home at 62 Heckman St. around 2:40 p.m.

Looks like the only "tools" they used, were a tip and a knock at the door.

A few people trying to live the American dream. Just like the bootleggers of a hundred years ago. I am surprised there are not more houses where weed is grown and Meth made. For what You can buy a house for in some of theses towns. You probably make enough to buy a new one every year. Guess I will go get my bath salts ready.

I can’t believe some of these bottom feeders are still alive. First, they’re too dumb to get real jobs and make real money. Then they’re too dumb to realize that making meth is a bad idea. Then they’re too dumb to keep it a secret. And to sweeten the deal, they’re too dumb to know who is at the door before opening it while making meth. These people are not fit for society and should not be allowed to breed.

This incident is another example of marijuana unfairly being judged as dangerous, evil, and dirty (being grown in a meth lab). Legal in 16 states, including New Jersey. Can’t stop this train now. Elections don’t change society, social movements change society.

Who do you think the NArcs are? They are the users that got caught, not people to be applauded. They are NARCING to stay out of jail, not to help society. They should not be applauded any more than they should be condemned for there actions.

Well busting a meth lab deserves an applaud to all involved starting with the narc and to the police. Who cares what the reason is, as long as another lab is shut down!
