Sounds like Silberline will be heading to China. So much for all the American workers who helped build their fortune.

They are making money hand over fist at this company. Why move the operations to China? The workers here have so much to lose, and the owners don't seem to care much. I imagine this will continue to happen to US manufacturing and no Government policy makers can do anythind to stop it. When good employeers leave the area, we all suffer. Where will the local government come up with the lost tax dollars?

But is it true or just a rumor?

Are they shutting down the Hometown office?

No use getting upset if it is just a rumor.

Came across this forum when reviewing other Tuscarora news. What is this all about?

I live in Hometown and I read they are cutting back some operations at the Hometown plant and of course the Lansford plant but as far as I know are NOT moving the entire Hometown operations overseas. Wait until mid January when all this stuff is final then you'll know the extent.

They will be back to work on Monday. With the economy in the dumps they may end up with another layoff before March. Hopefully things pick-up and they start hiring again in a few years.

The announced yet another layoff. That brings the total since December to 49. I can see another 20 or so union jobs going and about 20-25 company jobs gone by June. It's not good for those who supply the auto industry. I just hope Silberline can stick around for another few years.

Has Silberline moved some of their production to China in order to be more competitive with their products?

Why do you have armed guards there now? Are you making some type of black ops material? And how can I get a job there?
