This is positive news, but only a start. Before the governor, state superintendent, Madison Parish board of directors, and superintendent get slap happy, let's put this in perspective. Avoiding a state take over of your school district should not be your call to arms and action nor a standard of measurement for acceptable performance.

Madison Parish finally accepted the fact that education leadership is needed in this school district and required corrective actions. But this is clearly a case of picking the low hanging fruits. Now is the time for serious education leadership and continuous educational improvements.

Keep in mind the following questions: Is this the best you can do? Are your education benchmark standards too low? Can you repeat your performance? Can you improve your performance?
