Professor, wife indicted on fraud, money charges

A University of Florida professor and his wife have been arrested and accused of receiving fraudulent government contracts from NASA and other government agencies and moving the funds to their personal bank accounts, authorities said.

"An attorney for the couple, Lloyd Vipperman Jr. was not available for comment, his office said."

I've read elsewhere that the Anghaies' attorney is ~prohibited~ by the court from commenting on this case. Unfortunate. It hardly seems fair that the U.S. prosecutors and the media can destroy the reputations of this couple before the trial has even begun, but their own attorney cannot issue a statement in their defense. It will be interesting to see if the media continues to follow this story... particularly if the Anghaies are acquitted. Will there be as much interest then? Will they be vindicated in the press as well as in a court of law or will their reputations and careers be ruined forever in spite of their innocence?
