Police Files on Dead FSU Informant

There are new developments in the case involving a former FSU student turned drug informant with Tallahassee's Police Department.

TPD used and killed the girl for their own gain...This is completely sickening to think her life was used in this way by the police and their ambitions...She was guitly of a victim less crime that led to her being a victim...I'm hate this for her family and wish them the best in this time...Those two should be tried and prosecuted along with every member of the police force involved

I agree 100%. The police basically used her for bait. Even if they did get a gun and two thugs off the street there would have been no discernable change in the availability of drugs or guns, so i beg you what is the point people? Why do we allow our police to operate with no oversight? They should need a warrant to use a person as bait. Its wrong to let a bunch of cow boys lose on the ranch to do what ever they want. These cops dont give a crap about the citizens all they want is numbers. Number of drugs seized, number of arrest, cash seizure numbers and so on. Well boys you really f'ed up this time and someone got killed. someone who hurt no one. The cops should have been investigating real crimes like car thefts, personal property theft, rapes, robberies, and fraud. Does Tallahassee have no other crime but drug crime? Come on people law enforcement is not the answer to our drug problem; they are the problem., and educaton and regulation are the only true answers.

Wow both of you people are idiots. This girl got what she deserved. She should have sucked it up and gone to jail for the shit she did. Noone forced her into anything. She wanted to get off and didn't care who she got thrown in jail as long as she stayed free.

I lived in tallahassee for 3 and a half years. TPD are complete assholes. They are crooked, and immoral. They are like a lawless gang. I personally knew Rachel when I lived in Tally. I did not know her well at all but I knew who she was. Its a damn shame. Drug offenders like her are non violent people. She was put into a violent and dangerous situation by the police department. In clinical studies, violence and dangerous situations involving guns are not side effects of MDMA and THC.

so let me get this straight..she gets caught trafficing drugs..instead of being a big girl and accepting responsibility and her punishment, she rolls on someone, then on top of that, does not follow her instructions from the police and gets killed and ya'll blame the police? im sorry, but when she chose to traffic she took the chance of getting caught and should have just took her punishment...she would still be alive today if she had.

I may hold life to a higher standard than you, but I have a hard time believing anyone could be so shallow and callous...
Hydrogen---what would a chemistry phD be doing in Jacksonville? Your grammar certainly holds your intelligence in question. Furthermore, few truly knowledgeable people have to shout out their credentials so early in a conversation (this coming from a current phD student).
All of this makes me glad to be leaving Tallahassee. Their are tons of ignorant rednecks, and most blacks are even more racist. You've got the two universities, the government, and the rest is extreme poverty. What an all around hellhole...

I completely agree. No one deserves to die, but she put herself in that situation. She was too weak to take responsibility for her actions so she chose to snitch and then didn't even follow directions. She got caught red handed, and instead of eating the charge, she dropped the dime. Rachel would never have needed to be in that park if she would have just accepted her actions and punishment. She chose to create problems for someone else who was not involved in her arrest. It is sad that she lost her life, but it wasn't because she got arrested for pot, it was because she tried to be slick and cause problems for someone else when she should have handled her own.

It is unfortunate that the demise of Rachel Hoffman had to take place, for we, american citizens to realize how sadistic the criminal justice system is .The officers of Tallahassee are corrupt they will do anything to get a story,or may an arrest , just to put bread on the table. If the same thing would have happened top a minority female her body would have never been found .Tallahassee campus police officer and Tallahasse police department are interrelated, and they are crooked.
