How much was the pay raise for the politicians? I cant even buy gas and groceries for one month with the $673 after taxes, not to mention this won't even figure into my retirement. I thought you said you were going to help the State workers Charlie or is that just words to get votes? Will you say the same thing come re-election time?

Yeah I work for the state and I am not to happy with our big bonus but on the other hand I could be earning 275.00 a week on unemployment. Dont forget we chose our jobs because we care about the people we take care of ,keeping the streets safe, feeding needy families. We chose these jobs and if your not proud of what you do then you do need to find another job. Sometimes we lose sight of what we are getting up every morning for and yeah I have a family I can barely feed, but when I leave work everyday I know that I have helped a single parent feed there kid or kids. And for that I am greatful.I work hard and I know that the value of life is not money..It will come other ways.

A DCF Suncoast employee didn't receive her bonus because her appraisal was a little under 3.0. She happens to be a new employee at DCF and of course is learning her job. What a slap in the face. I didn't hear that the bonus was relating to your appraisal . Wasn't it suppose to be instead of a yearly increase...come on give the poor employee which is grossly underpaid a little extra money.

That is very nice and noble of you. But as a tax payer I want you to make a livable wage taking care of us. You choose those jobs knowing that you will never be rich. However to make you worry about paying your bills is not right either. I would rather not see a reduction in property taxes and give you a fair raise. God Bless all of you state workers. Shame on our Mr. Christ for not taking care of the people who break their backs taking care us.

Thank You all.

Once again the FHP gets the raises and no other state agency does. Why do you think this happens each time? Are there more troopers than any other agency? Is it because they guard the governor at certain events? Look what officer stands next to Bobby Bowden at FSU games folks! The FHP talks about losing younger officers because of low pay. Check it out...ALL state L.E. agencies are losing ppl to other departments because of low pay and no raises. Morale cant be any worse with state L.E. officers..except of course, the FHP. All troopers, new or senior, retired or not, will get the 5%. Those in DROP get the 5% plus the 3% cost of living on July 1 each year. I'm a career service employee and cant afford to go anywhere else. I've worked for 32 years in state government and new officers coming on now make a couple thousand less than I do. Laughable aint it?..but very sad. All of you NOT with the FHP...make your 8 and out the gate! Work like you get payed.

Wait until the courts start cutting employees again. In addition to ongoing furloughs, the Supreme Court alone will be losing 22-30 people. This figure doesn't even include other courts across the state.

Odd how none of our elected officials want to address the numerous request to look at taking some of the Hotel (Tourist) tax money to augment the very public services that the Tourist impact. Sure they come and drop a lot of money at the theme parks (Corporate tax breaks) they pay a little in sales tax but they pay ZERO on increased calls to police / fire etc. I encourage you all to look into how much your county rakes in on tourist tax dollars. Those same dollars that can only be used in one of two ways. Paying public sector employees for increased work is not one of them and it is time that changes. This is also a source of revenue they coudl use to make up their budget shortfalls rather than on our backs. I am sick of hearing about the pension, take it away and put us all in a 401K, less work for them to do looking for ways to take it away from us. Then maybe we can get a decent raise.

You snivelling worthless lazy good for nothings have been on the gravy train so long that you wouldn't know what a real job was if you saw it.
If it's so bad, quit. Of course you won't because you can't go anywhere else and get the same compensation. Get a real job in the private sector and stop sucking on the government teat, i'm tired of paying for your salary and benefits.
