Fire-charred mountains fuel wildfire policy debate

Or, like homes on the Malibu California coast. When will we require responsible development/ownership/maintena nce in those areas, and recognize that some places are just not appropriate for development????

The Wild Earth Guardians are not experts on wildfire or prescribed fire; in fact, they are far from it. They are nothing more than an interest group, and frankly they do not have Fire Ecologists on staff. I would feel much more comfortable with the author interviewing someone that actually has studied and perhaps fought wild or prescribed fire before.
I probably speak for many when I say that seeking consultation from non-technical experts on critical matters such as these is often counterproductive.

In fact, knox, I do have a masters degree in ecology and I have managed fire for the National Park Service. So your assumption in your post is flat out wrong. In fact, several of our staff have graduate degree in the sciences.
