Joe sixpack can't contradict the contradiction.

Dems in power= It is still the Republicans fault

First it was Bush invades Iraq to get low oil prices for his buddies.
Then it was high oil prices are for Bush and his buddies.
Now it is high oil prices and still somehow Bush's fault.
As for refineries closing, Chevron is trying to modernize and expand their 100 year old refinery in the bay area and the environmental nut-bars have sued to stop them. No wonder nobody wants to have a refinery in the US.

Gas is expensive in Chico because the students will pay the higher price. Supply and Demand. It should be cheaper since the pipe comes out here and has to be trucked to surrounding towns.

Okay - I'm in Quincy during the week and I always get my gas because here because it is cheaper that buying it in Chico.

How can that be when every gallon of gas sold in Quincy has to pumped into trucks at the tank farm in Chico and then hauled up here to sell? The only answer that I can see is proce fixing by Chico gas stations, it's obviously cheaper for them to get the gas than it is for Quincy stations, but if they all agree to sell it for more, who's to stop them? I think it stinks!

As the weather gets nicer we should have a gas strike. This is a good town for riding bikes anyway.

Seriously you progressive in Chico and Chester are getting an extra special screwing. Gas always cost more even at the cheapest station in Chico than at the Arco in Paradise. It was about 12 cents a gallon cheaper today that every station I saw in Chico today. And I didn't need a Costco card or have to buy over-priced Safeway food to get the best price.

gagonamaggot-you are the one trying to politicalize this issue and it has nothing to do with either has to do with greed and price gouging/fixing which members of all parties are guilty is really too bad people on this forum can't have a conversation without people like you and Juanita always trying to blame the different political parties.i'm actually amazed you 2 aren't trying to blame the city council for the higher gas prices.

Are you aware that Chico Mayor Ann Schwab's Sustainability Task Force recommendations include a special addition tax on gas in Chico? It's not that the council doesn't want to or doesn't have a plan to raise gas prices. You are correct in that they haven't been able to do so yet.
