Anti-gay PAC wants donor lists kept secret

Full story: www.seattlepi.com

n a move state officials feared might happen, a political action committee opposed to Washington's new "everything but marriage" same-sex domestic partner law has sued in federal court to keep its donor list secret. We obviously need a law that says, if the signers of a petition are kept secret, the initiative is null and void.

Is there any louder proclamation of their own bigotry? "I want to give lots of money to this cause, but I don't want anyone else to know who did it!"

They might as well just start wearing the white sheets again. Hatred is not acceptable. If you want to donate to a PAC that is bigoted in its nature, you have to suffer the consequences.

I bet they do! What are they hiding? PUBLIC INFORMATION under Washington State law, that's what!

They are afraid the petition signers will be harassed. Piffle. If a person doesn't want their personal information made public when they give a donation or sign a petition, then don't do either.!
One should have pride in the causes one donates time, money, votes, access..etc. to...why would one want to hide their good works? Don't some folks get written recognition in the "program" by different levels of sponsorship? Why do you think that is? It is for proof that one is "doing their part." It's a good thing when people give. Why would anyone want to hide giving?

Whatever it is they want to hide, we do know this: it will cause people to be harassed! That's right! They're afraid somebody will say something to their face instead of hiding behind a donation. God forbid people should be face to face! It makes us seem a little more human then. They don't like it when we get in their face.

Which attorneys are getting rich off this frivilous lawsuit?

The fact is that due to Prop 8 they are afraid. They are afraid of any retaliation that might come their way ie business decline, pickets outside etc...

They're afraid of being harassed? They should try being gay for a week!

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Scorpio

Let the past stay in the past for now. Even though you may have fond memories of intense experiences, the Virgo Moon sees to it that you have virtually no desire to go there again just yet. This is your opportunity to show others what you can do in a more civilised environment. Don't try to shout down someone who is rude enough to interrupt. As unlikely as it may seem, the softest voice has the biggest chance of being heard today.
