This ROCKS. My son was also asked to be the man of honor for a high school classmate's wedding, and I remember being impressed with both of them for thinking outside the box. While he was waiting for the details, she quietly got married without him. It would have gone a long way for her to have told him she changed her mind, instead of him hearing about her wedding from others. I was impressed with her for wanting him in her wedding, then unimpressed with the way she handled the change in plans. Hopefully she'll handle other changes of heart in a more adult way. And others will read this article and see that the box is a lot bigger now.

Sounds like the girl was just keeping your son around as an insurance policy. Something tells me that the groom wasn't too happy with the biggest threat to his marriage being forever in their wedding picture for him to see.
How would that bride feel if the groom wanted a Best "wo"man next to him? Probably wouldn't fly with the bride...

When it comes to weddings, the only rules that should apply are what your heart feels. We also chose to have our best friend as our "Friend of Honor", who just happens to be a man.

I think that is real cool! Be different. Do what your heart tells you too.

Elvis was my man of honor when I was married in Vegas. I kind of wanted Liberace, but his rocks made mine look very small. My wife would not have approved.

Cause realistically, how many people you know that BEST friends from the opposite sex? It starts in the teen years where girls keep guys dangling around a security blanket in the case their relationship doesn't work.
