I guess the truckstops don't want to waste any more good money on items truckers will not use anyway, like salad bars, turkey burgers, and diet colas. Hell they all have wash rooms now but most the truckers still smell like sh!t.

thats because they only go in there to shit but dont know how to wash their hands, then go to the buffet putting their shit stained hands on all the utensils everyone else has to use. They are also given many chances each and evey week to shower for FREE when refueling, but would rather keep rolling on down the hiway in their putrid smelling trucks with skidmarks in their underwear...disgusting!!!!

Attitudes and opinions like yours are why we need to organize and shut down for @ 3 or 4 days. Maybe then this country would learn just how important we are and have a little respect inspect of just trying to use us for a source anytime they need a little revenue by passing another stupid regulation. Like the one just passed making it against the law to text while driving with a hazmat load..I thought it was illegal to text while driving anytime,, You obviously haven't saw the inside of today s trucks,,they're wonderful little miniature apartments, some even have mini baths like in an RV. Since he is the only representative of the company the customer normally sees, unless a man is an owner operator, any company who found the driver or his truck in the condition you just described would fire him immediately. They'd probably fire an owner operator as well, he may own the truck, but he still represents the company,,

you sound like a typical "road scholar", an idiot who thinks he knows everything! FYI I AM a trucker of 20 years myself and we all know that each and every time you use the restroom, you can see it with your own eyes, the filthy, smelly, disgusting truck drivers who have absolutely no clue what a sink and water are for after using the facilities, much less a shower. Since you got so offended, you must be one of these greaseballs yourself!

Everyone is complaining about several issues that we as truckers are just laying down and taking. Instead of complaining on here, try organizing yourselves and getting some say in the ridiculous regulations. Stand up for yourselves instead of just taking it. Organize and unite!!!!

I can appreciate what you're going through with the thyroid issue. When I was younger, I couldn't put on weight no matter what I ate. Now I can, but I can lose it pretty quickly. But I would never watch myself get heavier and heavier and at no point say; "whoa, I'm getting kind of hefty." I would put a stop to it, and have, even if it takes a few weeks of 1200 total calories a day.
It just doesn't seem like a lot of people that need to are trying to (two thirds of Americans are overweight or obese). In my office job I see people eat all day, literally. After their coffee, they move to hard candy, then oreos, then a 3000 calorie cheese and cream filled lunch. Then an afternoon latte with whip cream and a ton of sugar, then more hard candy or chocolate. They're like machines, non-stop. Then out come the rice cakes and saltines for a week with the accompanying bitchy, catty attitude from not eating sugar; then right back to sugar and sweets again.
No discipline and the entire country is paying for it and the price keeps going up.
You'd think people would care more if their weight was making them so unhappy.
I just spotted your response and have to say, I agree with you totally on this one..lol I have saw people doing this very thing and it just kills me. I love that type of food,,but can't touch it, and these people gobble it down, then starve for a week to fix the problem..If it were only that easy! They don't realize that yo-yo , up and down weight-loss is destroying their metabolism and later on that weekly starvation diet is not going to work! A metabolism is like one of those new fangled batteries in cell phones,,they develop memories! And if you train one to recognize the starvation mode too many times, it's gona start conserving calories, aka fats and sugar, to protect you from the lean times all the time. Once it does this, your gona have a heck of a time ever getting it straightened out and working properly again! If you can!

I don't understand where this topic went but getting back on topic, sure he should have been fired. One more thing making us lose touch with our roots, cry baby attitudes. He represents the company, and a fat slob looks like crap. Period. Also, driving a few hundred thousand pounds and potentially having a heart attack isn't responsible. Third, yes truckers are important, but I cannot wait for the day when we have a cleaner and safer alternative.

I guess with all that new workout equipment the truckstop will supply there will be more places for drivers to leave their boogers, cut up the upholstery with their buck knives after they have carved their c.b. handle and the area they hale from into it. It could also be a good place to leave your trash like diet coke bottles { now your eating healthy } Buy yourself a small dumbbell set if not push-ups and sit-ups are free, take a walk Ive never had a problem at a truckstop but surely you can walk around the fuel island without getting nervous or take a walk at your load-unload spot you dont have to walk miles or hours but for god sakes do something for yourself. Try to buy fruits and veggies out side of the truckstop you can store these in your truck without any type of cooler.Save your truckstop meal for a piece of lean meat that is freshly prepared. Stay away from the salad bar, do you have any idea how many calories are in that dressing your drowning your food in? Not to mention all the disease at the salad bar. I cant tell you how many drivers Ive seen go back to the salad bar after they wipe their ass { I assume they wiped their ass } and head back to the salad bar hands unwashed.{thats not apple butter on that biscuit} Bottom line take care of yourself out there, you owe it to yourself and your family the easy way isnt always the better way.
