"They would have to offer us a substantial payout to stop this fight," Hess said. "But we know we have a great case, and they know it, too. So we will continue. We're here to win."
I dont see how you think you have a case ? You have no rights to the property and the owners had the right to sell it without your permission. Im not saying they should have but they have a legal right to. They also have a legal right to raise your rent, as long as they can prove the amount is justified by the rising cost of maintaing the property and taxes. Face it, all you can do is tie them up for a little while, but in the end you will lose. You seem to think they will give up and walk away, well somehow I dont see that happening. They are following the law and appeals or not you will still lose. Good luck in your fight.

These tenants are totally unrealistic! They do NOT own the property! They have to leave. Anyone who successfully and legally buys land doesn't owe tenants an explanation of their intentions for use of that land. These tenants had better wake up.

EVICT THEM ALL

STP bought the park last spring. Shortly after, residents were OFFERED one-year leases that would have increased their rent to $1,000 within a year. In October, tenants began a rent strike, which continues.

their rent is 1000 for a WHOLE HOUSE
and they have NOT PAID

evict them

Give them a 10 minute count-down to grab their garbage and leave.

When the 10 minutes are up tear down these "homes" and clear the land.
Or bring gas and a match and burn them out.

They don't have a good case which is probably why their lawyer is hopeful it can be resolved amicably. A property owner has the right to do with his property as he/she sees fit. These trailer owners have no title or leases to the land.

Told a woman from 'Syauset' I lived on the south shore - she said, "oh, that's where everyone parks their car on their lawn". So I kicked her in the nuts.

Well, you can try, but I'm pretty sure it would be a code violation and the town would shut you down pretty darn quick. There are houses on either side of me....if you can afford to buy the lot with a house...you could try...but I guess if you could do that, you wouldn't be in this predicament.

Best part of this story is that a Uniondale resident is calling other people trailer trash. Has anyone seen his town. Makes Mastic look high class.

The Judge found, while recognizing the "hardship on the plaintiffs [mobile home owners], but the reality of the situation is that the mobile home park has been purchased by a developer...it is inevitable that the Owners will have to move at some point in time". Well...yea. Take whatever money you can get now, because once their back in district court on the eviction proceedings, I'm gonna bet all deals will be off.

Someone should alert these residents. I was speaking with an older gentleman last night and he told me that as a boy he used to deliver magazines to that trailerpark, the Saturday Evening Post and such (circa 1922). Anyway he told me that a young man who was taking a break from flying lived there and told him he had just had a notion that a man could fly accross the Atlantic from Long Island. It was such a crazy idea at the time that it stuck with the boy. He saw the fellow a few more times and then one day he moved. That young man's name Charles Lindbergh and he lived in one of those trailers when he came up with the idea of a transatlantic solo flight. That trailer park should remain just the way it is as a national historical site.
