Who is going to be the new Chief of Police in Mayfield?

Barry Rice would be a great choice and I think he cares for the community and he knows many of the officers already. He has worked hand in hand with many of the officers and he is committed to the town.

Yes he is a local man that used to work for the Mayfield Police Department and then went on to work for the Kentucky State Police. His return to the department should be a good fit.

hes giving up a very comfy spot with ksp to come back to mpd and try to make a difference . best of luck to his efforts ! if things dont go well for him , he has 2 years to return to ksp . the citizens of mayfield need to look closely at the candidates in the next election .

I too am glad that Barry has been named the new Chief. He has alot of plans for the dept and is determined to get rid of the drug users that he can.

They were talking about parking on some of the streets in Mayfield and some of the speeding and a member of the public addressed the council before all of this asking for fair and equal treatment for everyone. I have a real gripe. They park on Golf Cart Drive towards the top of hill and you can not get through there in the morning and in the evening. also, people drive like 50 miles an hour through there in the morning and evening and nobody does anything about it. They also run stop signs and nothing is done. The city police have been asked to patrol and they will not. This is not fair.
