Lets try this; I work for a surface mine that I am very proud of, It has been in operation since 1992, without one single fatality. I have worked for them for 11 years. We have won several awards for outstanding safety, and many for our reclamation practices.. Every spring during arbor day our company invites grade school kids to our job to help plant a variety of trees, including blight resistant chestnut trees which are doing very well. Several streams surround our job and most of them are stocked with trout, and a couple of them even have native brook trout in them. Our plant is built on the job, so there is no over-the-road coal trucking, and the beltline goes directly from the plant to the train-loadout.
We do have valley fills, which most of are at the head of hollers before the main streams actually begin and they all have well contructed ponds at the bottom of them which most all are stocked with fish; bass and bluegill. I am working on getting some pictures to post on here shortly to show you what I am so proud of.

That is nothing but the truth! There are some companies out there that I have seen first handed that do destroy the land, rape and run, but there are also alot more out there that actually do care about the environmnent and their men. I just wish these environmentalist could also see this and quit trying to end mining altogether.

i heard his step mom and her brother called the law on him and turned him in for throwing one of his tantrans on them i guess they are afraid of him. but they put all the blame on tommy his dad. she hasd him hen pecked. i think it is a shame her bunch can stay there and choo can,t believe me they are no better than him.poor old tommy has to put up with all of them all the time.
