Since when has a horse been considered a motor vehicle?

The woman was clearly in the wrong.

She should have been charged with being drunk in public and other crimes, not DUI.

If someone is in a canoe or a bicycle, it is not a motor vehicle.

Thousands upon thousands of dollars can be charged for offenders of DUI in surcharges, fines, fees, supervision, bonds, bale, attorney fees, forced tuition to the state, etc. It is a racket.

Drunk driving is a crime, but cops should investigate all crimes, not just the ones that bring in the most revenue from the most likely able to pay, mostly honest, taxpaying, citizens.

This is yet another instance of authority being arbitrary with laws so they can arrest someone for what they feel should be a crime. It's fascism and it is a widespread and dangerous trend.

then KBY the party can sue the department in civil court and if they think being in possesssion and under the influence of meth dosent't apply then she wins ... i don't think she has a chance since a horse is a mode of transportation - just like a bicycle or a moped ... as for your fear connecticut law enforcement is unfair - DON"T DO ANYTHING WRONG - better yet - don't like it here - leave !

Be careful.A friend of mine was cutting his lawn on his ride on mower, and had a can of beer in one hand.A cop driving by saw him, pulled into his driveway, and told him to put the beer away or he would be arrested for drinking in public.

I live in Ft. Payne, and they tried to get her for assault with a motor vehicle but the horse didn't qualify, so don't think they can get her for DUI either! They did get her on alcohol/drug charges and not sure what else. You can bet they will find a way to ring money out of her! Just in this county they have 3000 on color code and/or probation with attendance to meetings every week at a price! Runs at least $75-100 a month CASH, so now you know why all these cities/courts aren't in a big hurry to rid their area of drugs! Most of them would be out of a job if the cash stopped flowing in! Not to mention the lawyers that would starve!
