to move or not to move

I have always loved Sylva and have seriously considered moving there....I need some honest feedback about the good and the bad. When we visit it is always on weekends.

It's a really nice area. I go to college over there and used to work there as well. You do need to be aware of the high amounts of traffic during the weekday rush hours. There also seems to be more crime there than say Bryson City. All and all, it's a great town and I too have considered moving there.

stay in sylva! i wish i did. i lived there my whole life, went to school from pre-k and up to college. i moved at the age of 22 and sometimes i regret it when i think of the life i had. i left some great ppl behind including my family. i always felt i was meant for something bigger and well i got bigger.. what i mean is i moved to the largest city in the world(landwise) jacksonville fl, and while it is large with lots of unique things to do, it is no where close to resembleing a "mountain of pride". that is what sylva is just that. with all of its beautiful waterfalls, honest ppl, and a bountiful supply of homemade cooking, there is no where else like it in the world. i swear it. and if i wasnt so trapped up in life and could make it back there. I would. anyday at any time. i do visit quit often to see my family but its so different when you move away and go back. memories flourish my mind as i enter through the "hollars" of the town and county. Move there, if the opportunity is there do it and dont ever leave as i have seen more crime, sadness, and emptiness in one day then i had seen in sylva for 22 years. think on it!!!

I have been living here for 8 yrs came up from ga would never move from here its a great place to live the rivers are full of trout and theres lots of other wildlife bears,deer,ect the people are friendly and theres lots of things to do
