Did anybody notice the new youth football president's son at signups? He was wearing a new jersey. This is the same guy who was giving so much grief last year handing out uniforms. Well his kid gets first dibs...I guess that is one of the perks of being a board member... you get to definitely coach too, since Mr Hoyle is coaching the midgets when most of the parents and kids wanted Mr Robertson again... Why are the board meetings not open to the public? How can it be fair when two of the board members coached together last year and they are two of the votes (Mr Hoyle and Mr Collins)? To be fair, shouldn't Mr Robertson have been present as well???

Last year there was a topic here about "Jackson County Youth Football" and how this (then Vice President) mistreated a child and made no efforts to correct the problem. I looked back and the original post was from southernmom and later wncdad joined the posts.

They pointed out the many problems Jackson County has had for years with this system and even met with the board. Sounds like either you get someone to shut this group down and reorganize, or your football program will continue to suffer!

Wncdad made a post saying they had been collecting information and would publish a letter soon, maybe they will have a positive return letter and help get this organization either turned in a positive direction or shut down! As it needs to be!

Nothing will ever change with this group until a couple of things are done. First, all that disagree with the way this group operates MUST stand together! I saw the efforts that went on last year. The couple that tried to fight for changes was left to stand alone. They kept hearing from people how they felt the same way but no one else "wanted to get involved" because their kids would be punished for it.

Second, those that do stand up have to demand that parents be given input. Such as, voting in board members. They also need to demand , as is mandated by non profit law, that financial records are to be made available at any time by anyone who asks to see them.

I know the couple that tried to fight for changes last year. They are still looking into this mess even though their child will not play here again unless the whole thing is totally revamped. They were told that JCYF has an attorney and that he would be glad to answer any questions they had. They contacted the lawyer that they were told represented this group. They sent him 3 letters...one registered..so they know it was received. They have NEVER gotten a response! What does that tell you?

Band together and fight! If u need contact info for the couple that has already done so much research, let me know.

Well as I see it with the topic of the coaching of the midget team my husband has coached this group of boys since peewee's and has a great record. I'm sure he has not pleased everyone, but as we have heard from many people that there were kids not going to play if he didn't coach, so that goes to show you that your not always going to make everyone happy whether it's Mr. Roberson or coach Hoyle. As far as the voting goes coach Hoyle does have enough morals not to vote for himself! We have always put a lot of hard work and dedication into our team along with other parents and board members as well. Whatever the outcome I just want to see the midget team have a successful team and be happy! It is sad that all people can do is find something wrong or to complain about all the time. The JCYF is very excited this year to have new uniforms and as far as I know the new President wanted to show everyone. Do people not have more important things to worry about or complain about? The season hasn't even started yet and there is already controversy and the funny thing is how would you even know how it is going to be? If you are that unsure maybe you need to ask for a refund.

We were lucky enough to not play last year, but we missed football enough to sign-up for this season. The week leading up to sign-ups I had more than four other mothers come to me to see if I knew anything about who the coach was going to be this year, out of concern. We (the other mothers and myself) wanted to know before we signed our sons up to play, because we did not want to sign them up just to pull them out because of a bad coaching choice. We were told head coach was not voted on until later. I feel like the real issue is being over looked the kids! I signed my son up to win and I know that Dusty Hoyle has the coaching record behind him to see that happen!

I think we were the lucky ones... didn't have to put up with your mouth...

Hopefully it will be a good season for all the kids... if only the parents in charge could be a little more forthcoming then there wouldn't be any issues like these. If the board meetings were open it would shut up the naysayers. Parents that have kids in the league are members, so why the secrecy? Let parents vote on board members and coaches and you would see all this belittling go away.

I am sure Mr. Jamison just wanted to show the new uniforms off, but he is the one who was giving the scraps to the midgets last year while Mr. Hoyle's team was wearing uniforms from the midgets and mites.. it was in bad taste to see his son wearing a brand new uniform while mine and others had to alter our own jerseys last year so they would fit... did you have to do that Mrs Hoyle or Mrs Collins? I guess the midgets wont have to worry about that this year since Mr Jamison's, Mr Hoyle's and Mr Collin's sons will be on that team, well those three probably already have their numbers huh?

We signed my son in a neighboring league...SO happy with that decision. Its more of an effort but this one, and many other neighboring leagues seem to have much more accountability. They make sure it's fair. Glad we aren't dealing with the Jackson County mess again.
