Boil Order Issued For Colcord

A boil order is in effect for an Oklahoma community. The water plant in Colcord was struck by lightning on Thursday afternoon.

whats the deal with colcords water every year we have several boil orders we were told they were suppose to get help from cherokee nation for a back up well and that hasnt happened yet does anybody know whats going on this is a bunch of crap

well it wasnt we didnt find out till they shut the water off no warning and was going door to door with fliers

they said we would be out of water for 18 yo 24 hrs they only gave us 2 gallons of water with 6 people my neighbor only got 1 and they have a new born?

You can go to your friends that have wells and get water. Apparently, the superintendant isn't going to make the call about school until about 6:30 in the morning, and it really makes me mad cause this gives us no time to plan ahead. Put my kids to bed earley and get them up early--we should have known something by 10 P.M. on the news since they KNOW that we won't have water in town tomorrow. It's Colcord, it will be a few days.

colcord water department is constantly having problems with keeping residents in water.last year we had three different water outages.now the public school wants we to send water to school for my child.i beleive it is time to address the issue.they should seek an alterantive source for water other than that one old nasty well

Yes, i DO NOT think it is right that we should have to send water with our children to school. They have enough on their plate as it is and then to have to bring water as well. It's crazy!!! Colcord needs to fork out the money and get this issue corrected and that would save them money in the long run.
